You know how Rackham models like sasia samaris and Irix the Sybil are called \'special editions\', what does that mean?

is that a limited run? Are they rarer than other models?

or what?

Thanks guys

I know of some Rackham minis that are only available trhough mail order, and also some that are sold exclusively by other mail order companies.

I think you better ask this question on the Rackham forum, where the real specialists reside :).

I was wondering the very same....

I had the Special Edition Fianna, which is supposed to be mail order only and also Irix and Sasia.... All seemed pretty easy to get....

Irix and Sasia special editions have a different ref card but the figs are as easy to get as other unlimited ones. I even wonder whether these special cards exist only in french.

Rackham\'s \"Special edition\" packs are NOT Limited edition miniatures. They are regular minis with a replacement unit card, ususally with the concept artwork on rather than the photo of the mini. The Special Ed. packs may be limited in number, or only through certain channels, but the mini itself is not a limited ed. figure.

Don\'t know if this will help, but I posted it in a previous discussion.........

They way I understand it is that:

\"Limited Edition\" means they only produce 5000 and each blister is numbered. I have the Griffin Assassin Shanys the Shadow (Shanys l\'Ombre) 3929/5000

\"Mail Order Exclusives\" can only be gotten through Rackham Mail Order. I\'m not 100% on this as my local store, in Vancouver B.C., did get a few in. Though I think that was a special one-time deal because a huge group of us did really large pre-orders in for the first shipment. The pre-orders plus everything else that came in that first day sold in less than 24 hours. It was quite remarkable.

\"Special Event\", my term, miniature like Le Corbeau are produced for the big tournanments, or come with magazine, etc. and are also limited runs, not sure how many. Any left over are put into Mail Order and thus go \'public\'.

From what I understand, and again I may be mistaken,....

The \"Special Editions\" are from Confrontation version 1, and have been re-released with New Confrontation version 2 cards, which are in most cases more powerful characters with a higher points value.

I have also heard, but not seen, that some Characters have more that one main card, one which is more powerful.

So, just what I\'ve heard....don\'t know... ???

Ack I had to re-write this post... it will be shorter sorry :

The second profiles for the characters can be found in the \"Pack Secondes Incarnations\" - it\'s a set of cards sold together. They\'re not always better but they\'re different. There are also special profiles in scenario packs, and with Rag\'Narok, etc... and of course the reeditions for Conf 2.

Also there have been limited editions produced in only 3000 pieces... like Tanath... ouch...

The special fianna is mail order only, but not limited. She has her own \"photo-card\". The \"artwork-card\" Irix and the others are the first editions of these characters ; they\'re still sold and they\'re not rare.

Hope this helps you. This info comes directly from France (I live in Paris) :)
