Spectres

After (another..) stop of a few months I have started painting again, and I am not planning to take another brake soon :p

At the Games Day Germany last year, I have bought the LotR Spectres. the Elf will be my entry for a local painting competition, and the other one was just to get into painting again! :p

I have worked on him for 2 hours now, and want to spent no more then 1 hour to finish him. What still has to be done: His gloves, highlighting and brownlining the shoes, his hair, and some brown/blacklining on the rest of the miniature. And the green plants have only got their first layer (way too bright now)

The big wooden base will be the base for the Elf, but I\'m nog sure what to do with it yet. It has to be like the death marshes in the LotR movies, but should I glue the model directly to the wooden base, or should I make a hole where the base fits in. And what about the base itself, what should I use for it? It has to be verry dark and nurgle/swamp like. I\'m even thinking of a dirty water pool (but don\'t know how). Or maybe a flame, just like in the movies, with source lightning. Any advices welcome :)

Comments are most welcome of course! :)

I would have made him a lot lighter almost like he was see thru. What you have done tho looks pretty good.

i like the general feel to the paintjob, but the weed is too bright for the dead marshes:beer:

I like these minis alot the dark theme is good, the green tendrils of grass I think is too bright for an area of land which as their title describes them are dead. A more yellowy brown wood have suited them better I think.

About the weed:

And the green plants have only got their first layer (way too bright now)

That was still WIP ;)
But thanks a lot already for the comments! I hope to finish him today, so maybe another update tonight :)
