Speeding up Oils Drying Times?

Nope not a putty oven, just addatives to the paint.
Going back close to 40 years ago when acrylics were almost non existant, it took two days for an area to dry on a 54mm figure using oils. (not withstanding the finger prints my mother used to leave on the things when she was \"tidying up\").
I\'d be reluctant to use any form of \"Forced\" drying such as a heat source in case of crazing due to uneven heat distribution.
However Einion is your man when it comes to advice for this area.

Most of the oil painters I know including myself have been using a crock pot or slow cooker set on low for years. You can get one at Walmart etc. for about $10 USD or you can build a small oven with a 60 watt light bulb, card board box and some aluminum foil. If you are painting thin you will get no damage at all. You can do both resin and metal in a crock pot. Just don\'t use your kitchen stove, as some do, oils will off-gas.

Yes! You can use a putty oven in fact.

I would actually recommend that you speed-dry oils for miniatures, as it greatly helps them to dry to a consistent matt finish.
