I think your practice pieces look pretty good! And practicing like that for a bit on things you don\'t care about is a really good idea.

You have pale white areas and bright white areas, seems like you need a few medium white areas in places, but other than that I think you\'re puzzling this out on your own really well.

I would start by painting thin lines over everywhere you want a pattern, then just build up on that with many layers.

But don\'t expect anything over night, and be really patient.
What he said.

Incidentally, with a large colour change like this it\'s often better not to go in straight away with white over the black. Maybe start with a darkish grey, then use a medium grey, then light grey and finally use thin layers of white. At the very least you might want to use one shade of grey before white.

Even using an airbrush you might get better results this way much less with a brush.

You need to keep pure white for highlight spots (which need to stand out) so keep this in mind.

If you are going to paint an army in this scheme you are going to need way more patience then you are showing. It hasn\'t even been a week since you sent the PM. Give the guy a chance. I will spend weeks at a time away from Coolmini due to reality intruding on my figmentia. Not everyone checks here every day.

Cool idea and I like the concept piece. The only thing I don\'t like it is currently seems random. If you look at YellowOnes piece all of the \'lines\' seem to serve a purpose, like they are a bone or tendon structure, and due to that they don\'t look so random.

i would say needs more contrast. it looks very white atm. also try thinning the paint even more. the blending on kirils stuff is insane and takes tons of layers. your stuff is still tons better than i could do though so keep practicing

Has no one pointed out his account is actually just yellow one and no \"the\"? :p

Freehand looks good though. Try thin washes of green for an alien-tint.
