well its hard to see anything.. get yourself a light blue sheet of paper and place the miniature on it to take pictures. use your painting lights to take photos with. A couple GE Reveal 100 watt ligh bulbs make awsome photo lights.

Dont hold the figure with your hand..you can\'t possibly keep still so things are blurry..

Retake photos..

and post Kirills Stepe by step instructions :D

Yea, its hard for use to tell you what is going wrong with your technique (or what you should change), if we don\'t know it.

And stop posting updates in both threads, just do it in one. Its a logistical nightmare I tell ya.

You need to get some lights..serious if anything to save on your eyes. Trying to paint in such a low light condition will eventually hurt them. And it will help your painting.

Im not sure where your located, in the US or elsewhere but I have 2 cheap swing arm lamps that clamp to the table that cost less than $20.00 for the pair and the bulbs were $3.00 for 2. Ove of the best cheap investments you can make for figure painting.

Not trying to take a dig at you either, just trying to help you out.

Hey Matty or anybody in the UK ..point out a place this guy can get cheap lamps at. Im sure you can find something much cheaper than that. Even somethingsimple like this from Argos http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0013327/Trail/searchtext%3ELAMP.htm with a day light bulb is all you really need.
