Spray Varnish in the UK

O.k, I've had a decco at what's on offer ( lots and lots of brush on) I just wondered if anyone had any UK based recommendations, I really don't want to take my chances with GW's hit and miss product.

I see Antencetti's has some plakka spray Third item down other then that I've been using W&Ns' Artists' matt varnish (brush on).

So if there are any recomendations on what to put between the paint and the dullcote, fill me in :)

Cheers,
Marc

I'm reading this as you needing something to protect Gaming figures?
Think HUMBROL http://www.airfix.com/humbrol-paints-and-accessories/paints/modellers-spray-paint/
I've used their Matt acrylic when Dullcoate was unavailable and have no complaints about its quality.

If you are looking for protection for display then a shot of Dullcoate without the gloss works just as well.

I second the Humbrol statement. That is the most reliable varnish I have ever encountered. It is the only one I've used that doesn't go grey when used in a cold or moist environment.

Platicote varnishes are good, and readily available from B&Q, so are their primers btw
Do you find that their primers take 24+ hours to set?

I 've tried two cans of grey and both seemed to take an age to dry ready for painting.

Granddad!
I've used the black one, can't say I've noticed, but then it was a day or so after spraying that I painted
just need to plan your priming better

Or on the other hand if you want to prime and paint on the same day just buy a primer that allows you to prime and paint on the same day!
