I especially like the end of the tentacle with the red cracked effect very good.

Wow! Second that. It would never have occurred to me to do that. Very cool. Those droplets look really nice too. I have had some unpredictable results with the acrylic gloss varnish as well. Especially in larger applications. Maybe sealing first would help? My pot is of undetermined vintage so that could be a factor.

Those water effects are incredibly realistic. I have to ask how have you done them ? I cam imagine it's a very slow process waiting for each application to cure.

Bright and contrasty with muted pink and flashy greens, wet effect, splashes and texturing, just everything is so well thought and planned you can feel the future work of the completed piece just by looking at some fragments of it! Just amazing! For the community thank you for sharing!

Thanks for your comments! To be honest I wasn't 100% sure about the tentacle at first but it came together in the end once the water effects did what I wanted them to.

You realize your not human right?
Never claimed to be!

Yep, this. Very cool effect. How did you build up the water effects like that? Is there a piece of hair or something in the middle of all of that?

I'll put together a step-by-step for the water when I do the base. It's just another variation on the slime and drips technique. The core of it is a slither of clear blister plastic that has been pulled and warped over heat to create a sinuous shape. That is then built up with water effects & clear microbeads. The stray droplets are supported on invisible (it's not really) mending thread.

Time for an update on Gutrot Spume. I've started painting his lower half and I'm making pretty good progress. Not 100% sure about the orange I've used for the rust. I'll probably knock it back with some more washes but I need to see it against the finished blue/green armour first.
