I prefer your "dark eldar" helmet version over the "faux face" one. I think you nailed it... again.
Thanks a lot for the close-up of the face it is mesmerising.... if you could put another close up when you consider it finished just to compare both stages would be awesome....

That's a lovely helmet! Definitely better than the previous face design. Also its good to see the head in position.

I felt that I was getting bogged down with the stitching details on Abalam’s helmet last week and as a result the project started to run out of steam!
So, I’ve decided to spend some time working on the overall paintjob for Abalam before I get too caught up in the details. That feels like a better way to approach this project, keeping myself energised and the January painting blues at bay!

Looks lovely, and the colour palette with that deep wine red really works.

this poor dude definitely looks like he has the January blues, though. In fact he looks like he realised just too late that somebody pooed in his helmet.

Im loving the greens you have used in the mix.
Like you im always trying to add textures and effects to different surfaces, not to sure about the water stains on the helmet metal.
Carnt make my mind up if it looks like realistic weathering or like the paint has pooled after a wash?

I still think the green, almost moldy gold looks awesome. I would wait until some other areas are further developed before following anyone's advice to ditch it (and then ignore that advice anyway). Great paint!

I like the helmet, the stains too. Abalam should be keeping better care of his stuff though!

I had quite a productive weekend and as a result the colour scheme has come together. I'm very happy with the overall red/green balance although the green needs some fine tuning. I'm finding that I need to keep adjusting the greens as more of the bust gets painted. I suspect that once both shoulders are done I'll go back and tweak the greens on the helmet. Overall I'd say the green on the shoulders needs to be toned down a little and the green on the helmet needs to be intensified a little.

Truely amazing. As always you show some amazing skill with your color palette. The colors match and supplement each other so well.

Absolutely love the shoulder pad and red color combo! At first I dident like the chinstrap but it really do work with the rest of the piece.
