Spyglass Centaur, my first comission

Here it is my Spyglass centaur and first comission piece!

This was done for the Spyglass company and I have tried to stay true to the Steve Buddle style with the paint scheme but let me tell you

1) Painting like Steve is bloody hard!:(

and

2) Painting for Steve is really daunting!:)

I don\'t think I am at Steve level just yet but I have tried my best to do this sculpt justice because it is truly beautiful!

I\'ll help a bit :)

I think you just inserted the link to the CMON page between img tags, but you need to insert the filename of the pic itself between these tags (right mouse button on the picture -> properties, there\'s the full URL of the picture)

I love the red hair, and the subtle blends are very nice.

I agree, Vike, the hair looks great.

But there\'s one thing that bothers me a bit: the area where the lower part of the bow meets with the horse\'s body. It looks like the white bleeded a bit into the dark area of the bow, which makes this transition look weird...

Great job anyway

Now I know why you jumped down my throat when I said the horse (IMO) looked a bit too chunky;)

With regards to the bow I think that is just an error on my part, I didn\'t notice that in the pic or I would\'ve touched it up, oh well too late for that now.

The red hair was hilarious to paint! I tried to keep it looking natural but every damn time I did it she ended up looking like the girl from the Feria Haircolour adverts!:rolleyes:
After 6 attempts at doing red I figured this was pretty close to what I was trying to achieve and left it!

I\'ve also tried to ged red into every colour (except the white!) Which I really feel has worked this time, usually I just lose the model in a sea of one shade when I try this but this turned out just about right.

Yes It\'s a great job! Well done on the commision.
You\'ve managed to get Steve\'s smooth transitions off to a Tee. (and that can\'t have been easy!) When I first saw the figure in the \"Browse images\" I thought that it was Steve\'s painted version!



Walk off muttering to self about Bigger hammer being needed. ;) :D

Nice work dakid, my only critism is that I\'d like to see a lower angle to get full effect of the face as it is looking down (but looks quite stunning.)

Love the red hair, but then again I\'ve always had a thing for red heads (my GF is one)
I\'ll vote from work as it\'ll give me something to do. :D

I really don\'t like my painting being associated with the practise of beastiality people!lol

However if my painting drives you to the act of intercourse be it with your spouse or house-pet then truly I have a gift!lol
