hi everybody, i just thpught it might be an idea to find out the conditions people paint in, as my paint station LITTERALLY looks like a paint bomb has hit it, and i think that there may be things living in it. so how do you all do it?
cheers:beer:

I\'m glad I ain\'t the only one :)

I have a 3ft X 3ft table, and I\'ve managed to keep about a 10\" by 6\" area of it at the front edge clear to actually work on... the rest of it looks like someone\'s emptied several boxes of modelling materials onto it, and then it\'s \'drifted\'... like snow.

And everything within a few feet of the table has paint on it :)

Hopefully we\'ll be moving next year and I\'ll have a painting room which\'ll mean I can keep it all much clearer.

Mine is very neat. Only \'cause I paint on the dining room table so I gotta pack it up every time I am done. The only good news is that I am still involved with the family while I paint so I get to spend a little more time then if I was to seggregate myself into a spare room or the garage.

Also.... TOP TIP! Sometimes my wife goes out and rents a crappy flick, and I can paint at the table while she watches \"You\'ve got mail\" for the twentieth time. So long as I throw out the odd comment about the movie it seems to count as \"quality time\", and I get stuff done. Boo yah.

I have more than just a desk..I have two..in a room full of gaming, modeling and my sculpting stuff and I can never keep any of it clean. Ill try, like I am this morning to tidy things up and with in minutes its like someone exploded the \"Mess Bomb\" in their. Right now I\'m cleaning up after making a couple new desert themed base sets so I have sand and slate bits all over my desk top that needs sweeping up. By tomorrow it will be covered again with god only knows what.

One thing I can\'t stand is \"food mess\" as that can attract bugs.

Squalor isn\'t a strong enough word for my paint station, which grows as I work at it. It\'s hard to explain. I put things away, I keep things in the same place, but it continues to get messier and messier, anyway. And bigger.

I have a cluttered table in the loft/attic surrounded by boxes and bags of figures, scenery and other stuff. Damn cold in winter and hot in summer. Got myself a small fan heater which just keeps the chill off of me. As for the table it\'s mess as I always end up with things on it from the wife/kids that need fixing - \"well you\'ve got all the tools/glue etc\"

I guess mine is safety. Just finished a kitchen remodel, and we repurposed a bunch of the cabinets. I\'ve got a nice set of glass door cabinets above my \"table\" (two slabs of MDF, with different thicknesses) and then closing off the rest of the basement are five more cabinets with a countertop! I\'ve got everything stashed away now and actually have space on the desk! Woo-hoo!

And here\'s a pic of it:

Abject Squalor.
I have an 8x10 room with only enough floor space left for me to pull out my chair and squeeze back in.The floor\'s covered with boxes
And I use the Holmes dust filing system, I know how old something is by the amount of dust on it.
:rolleyes::innocent:

Shawn, I love that you pile your bills in the same spot as your \"on-deck\" circle of figs...

Hope the bills don\'t pile up like the fig pile innevitably does...

Also what are the symbols on the plastic drawers for?

No Kidding! She thinks minis are TOYS! I have to put everything away after I\'m done working just to make sure I don\'t have to fill tiny tooth holes the next time!

i\'m pretty tidy now that i have proper paint storage shelves instead of the lazy susan style holder.

oh and a couple of cupboards for storage as well, and a wardrobe, some draws and under my bed.

i draw the line when it encroaches on my music teaching room though, it just isn\'t rock and roll when static grass is stuck to your guitar (and it takes forever to get the shit off!)

I only really work on a 30cm x 30cm area, so I\'m quite neat whe it comes to my working area.
The thing that confuses me though, is the half painted Leman Russ tank that always finds it way onto my work area......... how does it get there?...... I never put it there?
