Squalor or Safety?

it\'s cool because they only come out from the wall about 30mm or so all your worktop isn\'t taken over by paints

once you\'ve stacked them up how you want them, offset is a bit more compact than directly on top, you can play around with different frame sizes.
They can be rectangular, square, whatever really, make the frame and don\'t forget to put a back on it, so your paints don\'t fall out.
Oh yeah, cut the tubes so just the lids are sticking out, don\'t forget to allow for the angle, and that the pots aren\'t sitting flat
put all your tubes in the frame, glue them together, and place blobs of hot glue in strategic spots.
I\'ve also had thoughts of putting a face frame on to keep the tubes in as well

Yeah, he\'s got me stumped as well. My couple of guesses would be an Instant Flocker, or maybe something that\'ll blow paint-soaked foam across a large model to make \"damage\".

But I think I\'m way off on both.

I thought of a slightly different way to do the pipe paint rack, since I don\'t want to cut hundreds of pipe segments at 30 degree angles.

Cut each pipe segment straight. Then, make single rows of the pipes on thin boards. Put these boards on the larger board at angles like shingles or blinds, with a wedge or something under the bottom of each. Then you get the angled pipe just like on yours, but without having to fiddle with angles!

Might save a lot of time, or might not.

I decided to spend some time today and fix up my workshop. Now i am under the safety catagory! lol


I went to Lowes and bought some shelves and pvc pipe (about 25$ total)
I ended up making two complete paint racks and 5 shelves. The additional space was much needed. It actually made everything turn out a lot better.

now to just keep it that way

Don\'t see why it wouldn\'t work as well, but you still have to cut them, straight or angled. Plus your adding additional work too

I made a jig that clamps on my chop saw, makes the whole process quicker and safer,
Don\'t forget to include a clamp to hold the small lengths, I used a thin offcut secured at one end, so it acted like a spring clamp, and was quick to move out of the way

it\'s for sorting the birch seeds from the leaf shaped scales, which I then bag up, and sell in my shop
Scales not the seeds, although I think I\'ve probably got several million seeds if anyone wants some lol

I was happy for a bit because I\'d \"guessed\" the blowing part... then realized that anybody could have guessed at that from the fan.

wow that completely had me stumped.
The paint rack really does not take as much time as people think. just go get some 1/2 inchPVC pipe. I cut them all about 2 1/4 inch (6cm) long. I glued my segments 10 wide about 6 rows like that
then stacked them on each other slightly off center. In about 2 hours you end up with 60 paint slots (I use reaper Master series paints, worked out well for me)

Yeah, once you get into it, you can knock them out pretty quick
I think it\'s worth it just for the space you regain

If I have time I\'ll take a few pics of the jig on my saw, so you can see what I\'m talking about

Don\'t count on that lollol, I had exactly the same thought when the ex moved out, I converted a bedroom into my study/modelling area and it has grown from there........
