hi

go to a craft store, some sell clear sheets of acetate or plastics and some are made of a rippled plastic.

Use Tamiya clear colors on them. Paint the back side of how you look at it.

On the front side very carefully paint the lines that would be the leading in a dark gray paint.

If you don\'t need too much, I have some old stain glass from the Armorcast cathedral. I\'d be willing to give it to you for free if it\'s to your liking. It\'s VERY detailed and looks great with light shining thru it.

One of the issues of Black Gobbo had a write up on stained glass...I\'ll see if I can run it down and post a link.

*edit* Here it is:

You could try using pieces of a blister pack. Give them a coat of matte varnish so ink will stick to them, then do some washes!

I like the idea of printing it out - you could find something really cool! Though i would say that, my free hand ability is about as good as the guy in the tutorials! lol

Coffin Dodger / Keymaster
Overhead projector sheets for the inkjet.

Give them a light coat of clear to set the ink.

my wife is a freelance stained glass artist on the side and is making pieces for me right now. i will put some on when we get them done. i am planning on backlighting them with fiber optic wire from those crappy christmas tree things.

oh and another thing.

smoke that you can cut with a knife and can hold a brick that weighs 10 pounds has been on the market for a few years. its bloody expensive for a 2 inch cube, but it actually looks like a smoke trail when you pull it. so yes one and all you can fashion real smoke into a trail and it will look like smoke. is that cool or what. my friend showed it to me on a website once if you can find the site pm cause i have been looking for it for 2 years now.

I\'m not sure whether it\'s this what you\'re looking for... interesting stuff... they say it feels like styrofoam. 25$ for a 1x2,5cm disc, though...

Aerogel is mental, it can withstand unberable heat. A photo I once seen had a disc of aero gel with crayons placed on top of it, and there was a bunsen burner underneath. Suffice to say the crayons did not melt.

And if you insulate a house with Aerogel, one lit candle will heat the house above a temperature somebody can live in.

Yeah, Aerogel is in the Guinness book of records 2005 :D It\'s the least dense solid substance in existence.

cool stuff...never even heard of it.

Here are some you tube links, including a decent one done by grade school kids.
