I have ben wondering if its possible to use greenstuff as a stamp mold if im going to be using greenstuff to press into the mold. I have yet to try any typ eof stamping but know that my minis lack a certain depth and unique ness and wanted to try my hand at stamp sculpting. (eg cloaks and banners) any suggestions what to use other than brown stuff as a stamp mold would be great help.

I think you can use most anything for a stamp, the trick is to get it to release cleanly. I have found baby powder (talc) to be good for the stamped rivets I do.

Oh thank you, thats most helpful. and the baby powder doesnt stay stuck to the green stuff once its stamped? or can i just rinse it off once it dries? can i use a cooking oil perhaps as well? or will that ruin the putty?

Put the baby powder on with a soft brush and dust the inside of the stamp. Lightly blow off the excess. I think that any texture from the powder gets pushed into the clay. Mine come out pretty clean.

Experiment.

You can use anything that will prevent the mold from sticking to the putty. Lard, salami slices, mud. Obviously, they\'d have disadvantages lol I have done a couple projects recently and have been using vegetable oil (regular cooking oil). I\'ve used it for both Sculpey and GS molds using GS to press into the molds. Oil washes off fine with no ill effect that I can see. I wanna try talc and baby powder too. Maybe I\'ll try that on the Elevator door in my building, it\'s got this neat texture, kind of like middle ages cobblestone street or paving.
