Standard Bearer Conversions

I\'d like to convert a Bretonnian Grail Pilgrim into a standard bearer, but my conversion skills are limited, having only done rudimentary work with green stuff and some filing.

In the case of my Grail Pilgrim, his right hand was holding a sword at his side, which I removed. I then attempted to reposition the hand and arm so that it could accommodate the standard, but I fear I have ruined the forearm as it was partially attached to the body and is now bent in an odd direction and has some scarring.

In any event, I was thinking of removing the hand and forearm and attaching a new one in the correct position. Only, I don\'t know how. Should I purchase a hobby saw and remove the arm? Also, when I attach the new arm, should I attach the hand via a wire armature and attempt to sculpt the forearm, or should I find a suitable replacement arm?

Thanks for the advice.

The current plastic brettonian man at arms standard includes the hand and forearm (on the right arm), so you may be able to get away with removing the pilgrim forearm with a modelers saw and sticking the plastic one on. Depends how simple you want the conversion to be and what look you are after.

Hope this helps!

I don\'t have the plastic Bretonnian Man-at-Arms, but thanks for the suggestion.

I went ahead and removed the original hand and forearm and replaced it with a small wire armature to which I plan on attaching a similar plastic Bretonnian hand and then sculpting the rest of the missing forearm.

Hopefully my sculpting skills will hold up. I\'ve done very little work with GS :(

Thanks again,
Mark
