Meh.
It\'s not that I have anything against ST, but the last few movies were just plain bad. This one doesn\'t sound to be any better.
First of all, Shatner and Nimoy will have, at best, minimal roles; perhaps nothing more than camoes. Second, it just sounds like an extended episode.
Personally, I think they\'ve been trying to milk this cow for far too long.

I\'m a big Star Trek Fan, but this sounds bloody awful, I for one won\'t be going to see it.

this is the greatest day since seven of nine appeared on voyager. and it wasnt for her acting or character. :evil:
i dont care what it is as long as shatner doesnt outwit god. that is a bit of a stretch. on a side note

sisco in my book no one else became a god for crying out loud. although there is that whole pesky outwitting god thing coming back again.
besides sisco punched out Q no one else would do that. kirk would have tried to sleep with him.

I challenge you to 10 paces at dawn, no weapons just heavy drinking, so 10 straight paces at dawn.
I have nothing against them making a new trekkies film, just dont get why they want to go back in time, and do a film about a younger kirk.
I hate films where they use a new actor to play the role of another well known actor. This ain\'t going to work cause Nimoy is not playing Spock, Shatner is not playing Kirk. So in essence they\'ll only be Kirk and Spock by name.........it\'s going to flop just like the crap Enterprise series did.

I dunno. Worked for Batman Begins and all those Tom Clancy movies, and James Bond flicks.

I\'m going to hold off making any judgements until after I see it.
Matt Damon might just well carry off the role of Kirk. Brody as Spock, possible. Sinise as Bones now that\'s gotta be good.

The difference with these are, Bruce Wayne can be played by diffrent actors becuase the focus is on batman, who essentially looks the same and acts the same in each film. The Tom Clancy films, the books don\'t really lead on from one an another so you can watch each film as independant films, with no link. Same goes for James Bond.........I always see the different actors playing James Bond as different MI5 agents being given the codename 007 James bond.
Captain Kirk for 40 years has only ever been William Shatner, same for Spock and all the other characters.
To me personally they can make thi film, but that won\'t be spock, kirk, bones or scotty on screen, which will essentially destroy the whole point of the film. This film has been condmended by a vast amount of Star Trek fans not alone a fair number of Cast from various Star Trek series.
But hey that\'s just my thoughts, as a Trekkie

I agree. I don\'t see Shatner et. al as sacred. I think Damon looks a little like Kirk and I think he is a competent actor. I really like Sinise in just about anything he does. And I think he looks a little like Bones in TOS. I don\'t know th other chap but I\'ll give it a go.

Gary Sinise as Bones? I can see it. Good actor too. But I\'m not sure Matt Damon looks like Shatner AT ALL.
