Hi there!

I worked 46 of last 48 hours in the hospital, so i had to buy myself something to help me relaxing in the week end.

Now i\'m the proud owner of the \"star wars 4-dvds boxed set\" and i\'m planning to have a long relaxing week end on the sofa in front on my tv (ok, and maybe some mini painting!). Today i just gave a look at the special contents disk and i must say it\'s quite nice.

Awwwh, lucky you.. I really want it, even though we have \'em on VHS:)rolleyes: )
But I\'m so broke(and saving for a guitar effect) so I\'ll guess i\'ll have to ask for it for x-mas.

Have fun !

I am intending to buy it myself in a couple of days I\'ve been waiting for so long for this to appear on dvd. I have read that the ending of Jedi was changed to show anakin as he appears in the the Attack of the Clones when Luke looks across at the trees on Endor and sees Ben Kenobi and Yoda and of course his father Anakin stood in the veil of the force.

In addition, from what I understand, all of Boba Fett\'s lines have been redubbed by the actor who played Jango Fett in AOTC.

Wish Lucas would just leave well enough alone, honestly....

Sounds like a gift to add to my christmas wish list :D Hope they didn\'t change it to much, I\'m not one of those starwars diehard fan, but I think it would be nice to still be able to view the original version.

Well, everything in the Universe would once again be wholesome and good if only this time Han shoots first...

Our lass got it for me last night and the little\'n was watching Empire when I got in today.First time hes seen it.Hes 3.
He loved it.
I cant believe how well these films age. They still look great and only a few of the effects look outdated.

Our lass got shushed at the \"no Luke.....I.....am you\'re father\" scene.
Fantastic.

I have never watched any Star Wars movies.

You realy ought to if you like science fiction, pre Star Wars sci fi films were ok but the effects weren\'t great then when Star Wars hit the big screen it just blew people away with the special effects and the continuos action all the way through. Basically it set the standards for film making. ILM was created by George Lucas to create the effects he wanted for his films and they have been prominent effect artists in film making ever since.

I didn\'t like the fact that they added Hayden Christianson (sp?) and the end of RotJ, surely the point is that he has become a good guy in the end, so the \'spirit self\' of him should be how old he is when he dies, not how he looks in Episode 3, if not, why didn\'t they change the spirit Obi Wan to Ewan McGregor?

He looks dead smug too, like, \'Hey, look at me, I\'m in Return of the Jedi ;) \'

I will not buy the new box!

I have the orignial versions on VHS and IMO that\'s how the films are supposed to look. I didn\'t like the new editions that came a few years ago and I probably will like this new edition even worse. I wish Lucas would let them be.

Actually the VHS editions were not the way that George Lucas intended them to look his vision went beyond the capabilities of the technology at the time and also the budget and time constraints he had to work to.
If you watch the documentaries he himself explains that he wanted the films to look like they did in the special editions but had to wait for technology to catch up with his ideas.

Not to be cynical (honestly not usually in my nature), but just maybe he said that as an excuse to sell more videos?!?
