Star Wars: Force Unleashed

I bought this game for PS3, because I love Star Wars, and I must say that this game is excellent. You start the game off as a complete bad a$$ and progress to become an unstoppable monster! So I just wanted to say that this game is completely worth purchasing if you have a Wii, Xbox 360, or PS3. I have not made it too far into the game but what I have played is intense and requires a good strategy to survive the levels. Especially on the hard setting.

Played the demo on Xbox 360 and wasn\'t nearly as impressed as I expected to be. I found the controls way more convoluted then they had to be, especially for picking things up and tossing them. I was hoping more for a system like Psi-Ops. Due to this, I actually didn\'t purchase the game, instead I added it to an xmas wishlist, as I wouldn\'t mind getting it for free, but can\'t see paying for it.

Well that sure beats games where you start off as a total lame-o n00b and slowly progress to become barely able to survive. Want to gain a single level of sword skill? Better slay rats for a few hours!

Why yes, I am playing \"Elder Scrolls\" right now, why do you ask?

Seriously, if you want a challenge crank up the difficulty here. I haven\'t played my official copy yet (too much school work to do!) but the demo was pretty intense on the highest difficulty.

The boss of the demo is a chicken walker escorted by some Stormtroopers. Relatively easy kill if you can kill the Stormtroopers quickly and focus on the ATST by itself.

One of my attempts to kill the ATST on the hard difficulty was over before it started. I just about got killed on the bridge walking up to the boss fight. Yep, the handful of rebel troops busy fighting the stormtroopers nearly killed me. I tried to fling the big explosive barrel into their fight (quick way to kill them all off) but one of them realized what I was doing and started shooting the explosive barrel. It blew up in my face, and I barely managed to kill the enemy group. I had no health at all to fight the ATST with. I was surprised and kinda impressed actually :D

The game isn\'t scripted like most traditional games, they basically taught the AI how to defend itself (and to try and save their buddies) and so the game can just drop them off wherever and they will act differently every time. It actually has a much bigger impact on gameplay than I thought it would.

Apparently if you try to throw dudes off a ledge, their buddies will try to grab them and save their lives. I haven\'t seen it happen in-game yet, but it\'s pretty funny to watch their futile efforts :D

After playing the game for an hour or so? It\'s pretty badass. Very God of War styled. There seems to be some puzzles you need to solve using your Force Grip ability... stuff like moving TIE fighter wings around in a factory to make yourself a path to the top of the room. So much more difficult with realistic physics! lol

I played the demo and loved it, but once I read a few reviews on the game and found out it was only 8 hours long (if you take your time apparently). This axed it from my must get list. Is anyone else getting kind of sick of these next gen games (especially any that can be placed under the rpg genre) being so darn short. I think both KOTOR games had the perfect length. I say all this being a huge star wars fan and someone who was really waiting for this games release.

Actually 8 hours seems pretty long compaired to most Star Wars action games. I wouldn\'t consider this an RPG. Compaird to Jedi Knight, Shadows of the Empire, Rogue Squadron, Clone Wars, Battlefront, etc. 8 hours is a long time. Of course I doubt this game has the replay value of those other ones.

I do play to give this a go, just not for full price. If I don\'t receive it for Xmas I will wait for it to be avaliable from Blockbuster or Rodgers or Kijiji.

When you play the game on the hardest setting it is a bit longer than 8 hours. I think I am nearing the end of the game. I could go on and on about all the fun stuff you can do with the force and goodies you can unlock in the game but I do not want to give anything away

About KOTOR, I hope that Bioware makes another one. They did an excellent job with the first one and Mass Effect for Xbox 360 was insanely cool and did a great job of showing how they have improved their development abilities. If they can make KOTOR better than Mass Effect I will wet my pants.

yeah I loved Mass Effect and I think that had a pretty perfect length. It was short enough for me to want more but not so long that I was just mukking through it to finish.

I know its off topic (slightly) but who is psyched for Fallout 3, cause I sure know what Ill be doing when it comes out, reverting to a troglodyte playing it constantly. Its gonna be like Oblivion but with f\'n guns.

Yay!

I did buy this game, and FINALLY beat it today.

I really dig the whole feel of the game, some folks thing the \'kill the boss with the hotbutton\' is a cheesy finale, but I still found it very enjoyable.

The story fit in nicely with other Star Wars lore, and it\'s just an absolute hoot to hold Jawas in mid air, and then fling them to their deaths. WHEE!

I\'v got it and completed it for the PSP, plus on the PSP (not sure you get this on the other platforms) you get loads of extra \'historic\' missions, such as playing Vader when you fight Luke and tell him your his dad.

Good game.

Peace and love...

Bought it for the wii when it first came out. Loved it. Thought the controls were great, and that the graphics were pretty good for wii... Then I found out how much content was missing when you compare it to the ps3 and x box versions. There\'s essentially no AI, no attempts to save allies as they fly over cliffs no shooting barrels before I fling them at them. The storyline was cut down, and the cinematics weren\'t any where near as cool as the ps3 and xbox versions (looked them up on youtube to see what I was missing). Overall I would say it was still a good game... But I just find it really upsetting how much they cut out for this version...

Also think if you liked force unleashed, spiderman web of shadows was also excellent. Kinda similar style of game. Really fun on the wii, not sure how it plays on the other consoles...

I take it you played Unleashed on the Wii as well then...

I don\'t know if I can play the \'historic\' missions, but I\'ve I get to cut that whiney b@stard Luke\'s hand off, I\'m all for it!

EDIT:....Seems the \'historic missions\' are PSP exclusive. DAMN!

Yeah, I played Force Unleashed on the wii... Thought that was pretty clear but I see it\'s a bit of mess with the comparing to other systems... Still was a good game... just sad that they cant be bothered to make the wii version equal in story and plot. I understand the graphics restraints but why couldn\'t they keep all the same script and what not...

There are more limitations to the Wii the just graphics. Lack of internal memory, reduced space on Wii discs, lack of a HD, etc.

Overall if you can get a game on multiple systems, skip the Wii Version and pick up either the Xbox 360 or the PS3 if you have the option. The Wii is great for Wii style games, Wii Sports, Elebits, WarioWare, Raving Rabbids, but I find it\'s horrible for mainstream games. If they do manage to put out a playable version it\'s usually hacked to bits.
