Starting a new project

That's gotten nice. The colours look clean, and those choices go well with the pose, however accidental that turned out.

If you're thinking of doing the base like that, have you got some slate or rock chips ready? GW's basing kits have tubs of slate bits in, but can be got elsewhere. The grass, have you come across "grass tufts", Siflor do the ones I picked up recently. It might be them did the "field grass" I acquired in the same order from http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/

I've been stocking up on stuff to do snow after perusing the various articles on it. Does look like something to have fun with eh. I got plans to use all that on the kind of brocolli bases that come modelled to some mini's feet to "shoush" them up a bit.
Still, it need not be grass or snow, can still be both. Albeit faded, yellowed or browned grass, all very seasonal. A patch that snow hasn't settled or still sporting some faded grass, or tufts of field grass long enough to emerge through the snow cover.

Hi Morgan,

I am new to the forums and also not been paiting to long, one thought about your lines not being straigth. I believe that since the tau have sharp edges you can actually use the side of the brush to create the lines agains the side of an edge. . This is properbly a better method to use then try to paint the line with the tip of your brsuh and should create more crisp lines at edges.

Also as mentioned you need to exprement with thining down your paints, I am currently practicing to paint with more diluted paints myself and it takes some time to get used to it.

Happy painting.

Thanks Kretcher will keep that in mind,

Really hit a wall with this base i just can not decide what to go for and i am getting irritated with the plain base staring at me while i am at my desk

need to work something out soon

Can always just buy some display bases if it's doing your head in. There's quite an array in the CMON shop could get you pondering that as an option.

At least your Tau has a fair size foot print. Could possibly get a couple of pins in there for securing to a fancy base. I'm going that route myself and probably going to have to just go for one pin, but get some bigger drills and wire to make up for the lack of available footprint.

Looking forward to the DE project. Quite "gimme gimme" ain't they.
