Starting an Ogre horde

Starting to feel too much Ogre burnout to be a real machine!

So far today I've spent about three hours on Bragg the Gutsman. Not enjoying painting this fella as much as the others, he's just not as interesting, but well on the way now and should be sorted to get up on Ebay this evening along with the Thundertusk, which I have to finish the crew for. Hurrah!

Then it's only 6 Mournfang cavalry, 2 Ironblasters and Golgfag Maneater to do... Damn that's a lot of Ogres. :(

I have looked through your gallery and must say it is very impressive and enjoyable as well. The only thing that annoys me is that your work seems very underrated, most of it should be over 8 at the least I think. Anyway great stuff.

Hey Great job, they look awesome I'm excited to see how the Mournfang cav turn out. How did you do the skin and the tusks on the Thundertusk was it airbrush or drybrushing? and if you dont mind the colors ;)

Thank you for the kind words everyone.

DFB - I kinda feel some of my work is underrated and some of it overrated. There are certainly a few things in my gallery that have an oddly high rating when compared to some other minis I've done, but I guess it's partly down to trends and popularity of the mini, and all sorts of other stuff. I'm not loosing sleep over it. Painting lots of models is reward enough. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside!

With that in mind, more Ogres sorted. First up, the Thundertusk I finished yesterday (http://www.coolminiornot.com/287397), and then the latest on my Mournfang cavalry. The mounts are just about done other than straps, details and some highlights on the faces and whatnot. Lots to do on the riders still clearly.

Simply beautiful man! Loving the blood effect on horns and hands. Expecting great things of those cavalry minis!

A bit more Ogre work. Still haven't finished off the cav, have had all sorts of distractions going on, but I got some done on them this afternoon. Still quite a lot to do. The Mournfang are pretty much finished off, but the Ogres not so much. Have to finish off the metals, do the skin, highlight their trousers, add finishing details and highlights all over. Probably only three or so hours work, but I'm done for today.

Have lost steam with these a bit in truth. Just don't find them as inspiring as the big beasties and the characters, so I've not given them quite the same level of love.

How did I miss this thread? Fantastic work Iono. I really like the effect you got on the variety of tusks - the leather wrapped ones are my favorite. I do have one question though, is that blood on their hands and if so, shouldn't the chain and even the weapon on the end of it have blood too? Of course, I really like the effect you achieved on the chain itself - I'd be hard pressed to mess that up with blood. lol!

But gorgeous, gorgeous work! It's really something!
