just starting from scratch buy the £25 army box.
good balance of models around 300 pts
save money by buying together
get the quick play rules included

I would check out the PP forums for more info, but as a Warmachine Feind (my faveorite game!!!) I suggest you first start with the Boxed sets to understand the focus allocation aspect then pick up units and work to a playalbe 500 pts.

The box sets are good to buy becase they are at least a 10-20 value and you get a quick start set of rules!

The best thing about this game is the older models are just as powerful as newer models.

What faction are you looking at?

If you have played 40K, to me, Cygnar is like a cross between Tau and Space Marines, Menoth is a lot like Black Templars, Khador is kind of like Imperial Guard and Cryx is kind of like Nurgle and Necrons.

Still it is a lot of fun and the armies all seem well balanced. To me, a lot more than 40K.

just an opinion

The Cygnar starter box is a pretty good deal. Even at retail, you\'re saving some cash that you\'d otherwise spend if you bought all the same models separately. Plus, as others have mentioned, the faction box things have a starter rules in them, something you wouldn\'t have by getting blisters.

great, the three brothers who had warmachine moved to New Zealand. Now there are no warmachine players in my 100 km area. This just suck, this is what happens with most of the other games as well, there are games like warlord, warmachine, confrontation, they are excellent games, but there are very few players. Most of the players in my 100 km area play Games Workshop games, so i guess i will have to buy one of them now, because if i buy any of the others i will not have anyone to play against, this is really getting me angry, maybe in the future in 2-3 years, there will be more warmachine playersm hopefully, ah well, anyways, thanks for your responses guys, i appreciated them very much. Ah very angry:flame:

You know for the price of one good sized Warhammer army, you could probably buy and paint 2 small to medium sized Warmachine forces, and maybe get some people to play that way. You might really get people into it, and still not spend as much as on Warhammer.
