Sternguard (plastic conversions)

I\'m not a fan of the metal sternguard GW have brought out, two main reasons

1. They have the stupid spikey shoulder pads.

2. No enough combi weapons in the box.

So i made my own, each model has a combi weapon, either a melta or plasmagun.

The serg has a lt claw.

I\'ve also converted the capt mini from black reach to a power fist.

I plan to paint these up as crimson fists.

From a modelling perspective I think they look great, nice conversions where nothing looks out of place. My only concern is that they don\'t look different enough to normal tactical marines to be vets. The armour on the metal minis is very ornate, decorated stuff.

Course this could mean nothing once they are painted, so go go! Crimson Fists have one of my favourite colour schemes, and done right these could look ace.

Just a Q but your serg gas the lightning claw but a different marine has the banner backpack, wouldnt the serg have it?

They look fine apart from that, i especially like the black reach captain.

Maybe a little extra work on the marines to add that extra character,such as purity seals, grenades, trophies etc give them a battle worn appearance

I usually give a mini banner to one model in each squad to represent the squad banner, i think the serg has enough to do without lugging it about

I\'ll dig around my bits and spruce up the mini\'s a bit more with purity symbols, eagles etc.
