StokerD's Work in Progress

Ok, I'm not really happy with my freehand (mainly because my imagination WAY outshines my skill) so was going to scrap it. However, my wife likes it - so I am in a quandary. I think it may detract from the miniature - any opinions on the matter (I won't be offended, don't worry)

The freehand is very good. It just needs a very very very thin glaze of the purple from the cloak to make it look like part of the cloak. You can also carry some of the lightest final highlights on the cloak across the freehand and purple to tie them together in places.

No update - just an "I'm not dead yet" moment. I've had some nasty migraines the last couple of weeks, and my fine motor control has diminished greatly. Trying to recover and get that back is going to take some time. We'll see how long.

Get well, it's not a race. I am battling the monster known as insomnia myself. Amazing the dent health issues can put in your hobby, eh? Stupid aging. That's it. I'm not getting any older. It stops n-OW! Oh crap, I think I pulled something being defiant...

I arise from the dead! More powerful than ever before! More skilled! More handsome! Just more AWESOME!

Ok, none of those, except I'm back painting again. For a little background on this piece, I purchased a Black Templars army for my son to play this summer and fall (before he heads to college) in team tournaments with me. However, the army did not have two Land Raiders that we wanted in the army, so... here we go! :)

I realize there's no highlights, but I think it looks pretty good for the first time brush touches model in over six months. And it fits into the purchased army (minimal highlights there as well), which is even more important.

*EDIT* Oh yeah, that's also the first major freehand I've ever attempted. Think it turned out fairly well, if I do say so myself.

So I am currently working on an Extreme Mulg, converted from an Extreme Mauler. I am unsure what color (glowing, hopefully) to do the runes on the stones on his back. Any suggestions?

How about a blue similar to the one on nagash blade at TrystanGST's wip?

Updates on multiple fronts:
Not very practiced on TMM, so Nagash is presenting a bit of a pickle there. On the plus side, I'm fairly happy with how the flames turned out.

Thanks, Maenas - that was the overwhelming response I got from various places. Here's the finished model, quite possibly the best I've ever painted. Very, very happy with him!
