He scratch built it himself and had it taken from his bag. Could you keep an eye out for it on Ebay if you see it.

So if anybody does see it on the net popping up anywhere, please let me know and I will pass the message on.

This was Kyles!? I never knew, I was talking to him for ages at the event, but never seen his models.

Its just a gutter it was nicked, and after the event apparently, straight from his bag.

Yeah, Kyle who travelled with Sebastian Archer. He did this one and another, a bust, which was also scratchbuilt. But this one was the better of the two! It really sucks that someone would steal it!

This sucks. I hope you find it. Why do people steal stuff like this? I know I am having fits of nostalgia again. But I remember when you could go to con and no one would touch your stuff.

Yea thats the one, spent quite a while with him on the Friday when the cabinets were pretty much empty.

I just can\'t see why anybody would want to steal someone else\'s model, all they can really do is sell it on eBay, but pretty much everyone will recognise it. And it is one of a kind lol

Crap! I hate this! I don\'t know the painter involved but to steal someone\'s art like that is horrible! I\'ll keep an eye out and I hope someone catches the bast@rd and beats the snot out of him! :cussing:

It was stolen in transit between Paris and Sydney. There is a thread on Ozpainters. He has the airline trying to track it down, but so far it looks like a light fingered airline employee. He also reckons they left behind lots of other juicy stuff like Ilyad figures so it doesn\'t sound like a hobbyist.

The only blessing out of all this is that it wasn\'t stolen at the show.

Hey Guys, thanks for the Support. :)

Ok, so I will tell you what happened.

I remember packing it my bag when I left Paris on 15th. I spent around about 5 days in America before heading home to Sydney on the 19th.

I remember checking once, in my bag, when I had just got to america from paris, and I am sure it was still in the bag, but I can\'t be certain, its not like I was actually looking to make sure it was there or anything.

I got home relieved and happy to finally be back in my own home again after staying in hostels for the last 4 weeks... only to find that my Open mini was not in my bag. :(

So I have contacted the Airline, and they will contact me if anything comes up.

I have a feeling that it was just take out of my bag by accident and wasnt put back, perhaps by US security screening. I mean if they knew what it was, I am sure they would have take my case full of minis, and also a box containing Illyad, Hell Dorado, Alkemy, etc minis in it also. It just doesnt really make sense just to take a sub standard sculpted mini and nothing else.

But thanks for keeping an eye out for me.

Kyle

Oh also its in a Clear Airtight canister similar to this one:
Canister
and has a grey lid. With Blister pack foam and other foam surrounding it.

Also tomorrow, I am goning to contact the US security company and see if that have found anything. and I may try and get in conact with the Hostel I was staying at in Paris and see if I just misplaced it there.

But, I have a feeling that it is probably just missing in Airport land somewhere never to be seen again. :|~

Hi Kyle!

It was nice meeting you in Paris! I\'m really sorry about losing your mini! :( I was a bit baffled that someone at the show would have stolen it as there were basically just painters and modellers left there when the minis were retrieved from the cabinets and I didn\'t think any of those would steal someone else\'s stuff. So, I\'m at least glad that wasn\'t the case.

Hopefully it will show up, although I won\'t bet on it...

What a shitter though, having someone skank you of your first full-blown attempt at large scale sculpting. Arseholes.

No, no I remmebr getting it back from there, but it was on the plane home when it went missing.

Just to let you guys know, because of security reasons I am not able to carry on and need to check it in. So I dont know how safe it could possibly be in my luggage.

@Ritual: Anders it was great to meet you, and again congrats on your win! The competition was the Highest I have ever seen and you should be proud of yourself to get a prize in Master Category!

Also thanks to Sven, Matty and Tim. who were great company for the 3 days. At least I could talk to you without trouble or misunderstanding..... but the french guys were all so nice also, despite the language difficulties.
