Storm bolter or Heavy flamer? dreadnought dilemma

Hello to everyone! this is my first post, I\'m making a space marine army and I\'ve a small dilemma, for a dreadnought with assault cannon and dread CC weapons it\'s better choose storm bolter or heavy flamer? I specify that I use the forgeworld Imperial armour VOl2 rules for venerable dreadnoughts (they has a WS:5 and BS:5) so it is more expensive. I think that my army will be a close combat army, here you can see my actual (buying all the miniatures) army list and a pic of the first tactical squad (w.i.p)

So what you think? what is better?
Thanks

Normally, i\'d say that the storm bolter is better, as the flamer is only good against very low level unit types that are bunched together.
However, the assault cannon makes the storm bolter a bit redundant, so i\'d take the flamer. See the worst thing than can happen to a dreadnaught (especially an expensive one!) is getting bogged down by a bunch of low level swarming things, and hence being tied up stomping on roaches for a few critical turns. The flamer is perfect for that situation, and also for when you are trying to charge into assault, but land a few inches short.
Think of the flamer as a \"Plan B\" insurance policy.

I agree with Tiberius, the storm bolter is great if you want to hang back and take out infantry, specially with that assault cannon. But if you intend to charge into battle, take the heavy flamer, that way you can thin out each group before you charge, then wipe them out/make them run after your assault.

Good luck with your army.

Flamer all the way. Two bolter shots won\'t generally make too much of a difference, but a HF template will put a world of hurt on anything that gets too close to you.
