Stormvermin Bust

Due to health issues I haven\'t done any painting in about a year, so, this should be a bit of a challenge as well. This has been on my shelf for about 4-5yrs, so I\'ve given it a dust off and a wash, (along with the shelves)
Going to see how long it takes me to get back into the swing

bare with the pics, still getting used to the camera, RAW Therapee, and Gimp so if anyone knows any good books......

What is the scale ?

I don\'t know the scale, but a lot of these FW busts are approx 6\" across. Not huge, but still quite a big larger than your standard minis.

nah I don\'t know what scale they are either, but it\'s about 6-7\" tall
I\'ll put a ruler in one of the next pics

I noticed the little white V on the eye on the earlier shots - this really does something for the model! Is this a graphic illustration technique? that\'s what it reminds me of. Very nice.

yeah, it\'s more of a slender triangle, but at this size it could just as easily have been a square or dot too
There are also some tiny veins in the whites of the eye too

I cant see the tiny veins in the eye, I think the triangle brings out the eye alot.

Are you going to be doing an entire model or just the bust?

they are difficult to see from this angle, they are to the far left of the eye

here\'s a bit more done, been playing with the mouth and nose area

Done a bit more since this was taken as well as still trying to get my head round RAW Therapee

Taking the pic in RAW format really allows to zoom in close in photoshop/gimp and still retain clarity

the mouth is almost where I want it to be, got some shading to do on the nose yet

Just put a base color on the ears at this point

I got the ears done last night, I was faffing around with some other stuff, but I did manage to get a base color on his teeth tonight

Nice progress shots! His mouth is looking good, and I like the way you\'ve done the pink in his ears. I\'m just not sure about the colour of the teeth! Rats\' teeth are bright yellow, like so:

Of course, if you\'re not going for ultra-realism (on a giant, sentient rat wearing armour!), then don\'t worry about it!
