Straightening legs.

Straightening legs...

Is there any GOOD way to straighten SM or Chaos Marine legs? They\'re always spaced out and bent at the knees... And even with straightened legs, the feet are bent in a calf stretch position...

same goes for Tau firewarriors! bah!
just brainstorming for now...

Cut em behind the knees about 4/5 of the way thru, straighten them and putty where necessary. You might need to warm the remaining plastic \'bridge\' when straightening so it dosent break.

Same with the feet - unless you want \'em stood on tippy-toes :p

Maybe they\'d be practising their ballet...

Making the legs straight isn\'t that hard...just do what Shawn said. Making the feet straight is a differenct story though. You can either just cut the foot off and reposition it so that it is straight and then just add putty to fix up and re-sculpt the lower leg armor.....or carefully cut the foot in a curve about half way through and bend it until straight...then just add some g/s to fill in the gap.

\"Initiate stealth mode\" lol
Actually, I remember an old copy of Dragon Magazine as part of their April Fools issue had rules for Breakdancing Terminators in Space Hulk - replaced walking backwards with moonwalking etc so maybe ballet is not so far off...

One trick I\'m going to try eventually - carefully - is to take a magnifying glass and heat up just the area to be bent and see how the bending works. Using a wet paper mask and a halogen light I heated up a wrist and bent it with good results.

Im doing this right now actually for a few conversions. I cut the legs right through the knee joints and then pin them so they are straight. Then sculpt around it, and fill gaps. For feet Im just adding thin layers of styrene sheets to the bottom to make them flat against the ground, then sculpting a little bit at the joint where the foot meets the leg.
