Was reading the other day that the last time this particular volcano erupted in this fashion it erupted for over a year. Sweet!

Finagle! (e-cookie to the person who recognises the author of that)
Paul & I are supposed to be heading down to London via BA on Friday.
Looks like other arrangements may have to come into planning.
Like we haven't been messed around enough by BMI this year.

Well here hoping you get here on time, Martyn.

Go into Chinatown or to the many food halls, and definitely have the black pepper crab! Then to the Funan centre for lots of luvverly gadget shopping

Shaz
Shaz, baggage is already overwieght lol dn't want more gadgets just to get home, if I am not home by 24th May then I will probably lose £1800 for a course that I have paid for (

Went out for a meal with the agent and the few of us that are stuck here to a local back street eatery, food was superb.

Had a couple of offers for Australia and also a conservation project in the Philipenes so if this does go on I maght just go to one or both for a week or two.

Its not so much the case that the volcano has errupted but the damn wind direction blowing over the UK which has now decided to keep the airports closed until at least tomorrow despite successful test flights yesterday.

Mike, PM sent to you.

Very frustrating, they have just decided to extend the closures a further 12 hours, Damn them when are they going to get a set of balls and actually make a decission people can act on instead of blaming each other.

Jim I hope I get home soon as well it was June last year that I was last home, I hate to think what state my garden is in and how many national geographic photography teams I am going to need to evict from it.

Well latest news is that Northern Airports in the UK are opening up as of tomorrow morning.
We'll just have to keep a weather eye on things.

More ash on the way to the UK, getting to ferry ports in Europe is looking a right mare on the news even for those that fly in and of course good old human nature/greed has put the prices of everything up, story on news earlier was that a French couple in Asia were paying 250 Euro's for a hotel room, by lunch time the cost per room was 400 and by late afternoon it was 800 Euro's...

Same sort of stories with hire car companies as well.

(

Well just got an email from BA stating that they've cancelled all flights for Today (Tuesday) as they had intended to fly after 19:00.
Guess that means a drive to London this year.

Flights are back on and Singapore airlines even put an extra one on to day but they are only clearing last Thursdays backlog at the moment, guy that was supposed to have flown out with me last Friday got away though but he was flying business class and good old Navy won't fly me that way as I am not a proper officer...

If I get out of here tomorrow I should make Salute but otherwise :(

I suppose a big consolation to all of this fiasco is that airlines may have taken advantage of the few days they were grounded and have gotten caught up on their minor maintenance lists. Maybe travellers will get an extra bag of peanuts for the inconvenience?

Ouch. It would have been less harsh if you'd just e-slapped me. I've been put in my place. :(
No I was being Sarcastically Cynical.
Or Cynically Sarcastic.

Not Critically Snide.

<Demob Happy/Silly, Sorry. Hospital for me tomorrow (Duff Arm ATM), then Friday off to Salute>

My folks just returned from Turkey. Having been stranded a week, they made the most of it and just enjoyed the extra time - just checking websites for updates instead of repeat trips to the airport compounding disappointment. The old man should have been building an extension for someone, and ma should have been teaching at school so it ain't all good, but least they're alive. And what with all that extra time time in the sun, they look radioactive.

An update on War Griffon's behalf

I got a text message off Martyn at 05:21 this morning (Bleeding good job I was awake) stating that he was flying in approx 20 minutes and should be in the UK tonight.
So that's good news for him, and we'll see him at Salute, providing he's not too jet lagged.
But I think Freakinacage should be the one to drive this year.
