Now everyone gather round and have a guess which colour I painted the belt with.

All had a guess? You are probably all wrong, because it is Vallejo Game Color Bright Bronze. I painted it onto a base of black with a moderately diluted blue wash (Don\'t ask why, I... don\'t know.). As you all can see, this is definitely not a bronze colour on the belt. Does anyone have an explanation WHAT THE HELL I JUST DID? By the way, the filigree on the shoulder guard is the same Bronze, but painted over Citadel Chainmail. And I can\'t get a good photo of it, it is far brighter in reality.

Sakura told me to shut up, so I\'m going to do it and leave it to you.

That does tend to happen. The pgments seperate a bit and the silver portion tends to float to the top.

That would be my guess too...

You really have to shake the living daylights out of those Vallejo paints. Perhaps a small piece of sprue added to the bottle might help as an \'agitator\'.

Other reason of course is that the bottle might be faulty...

Actually I did. I am quite sure it was bronze when I painted it on. An I think I can see bronzy speckles... I am so confused ???

If possible, double-check your paint. Give it a nice long shake, then put a bit into a tray of sorts. If you see some flecks of bronze, but it\'s mostly silver, take the top off (I /think/ you can do that with those bottles...) and give it a quick stir with a toothpick/back of paintbrush.

If it comes out a nice, thick bronze, give a swipe of paint over a piece of scrap paper. If it /still/ looks bronze, put just a touch of the paint back on the belt-- if it goes on and turns back to that silver, I can only assume that one of the other paints could be... I don\'t know, \'eating\' the bronze color away? I know I\'ve seen/heard of that happening before (a pigment can be sucked out by other colors. I think.)

ya a similar thing happend to me... well maybe not that similar...

i grabd my GW boltgun metal, opend it, stuck my brush in, took it out n tried to paint a part of my mini... n ther was no paint on the brush, i lookd inside the thing n the entire paint had dried rock solid:wow:

now i hav to trie NMM cus i dont hav metal:D

To fix the situation...

Use GW paints ;)

All metallic paints start off silver, it\'s other pigments that are added to it that give it the certain color. Maybe this was a bad pot?

To fix the situation, I\'d give it a few glazes of chestnut ink, that should fix the color.

It\'s a Rackham Mini for Confrontation, a Formor Fiend for the Clan of the Drunes.

DennisMech: I already have another idea what to do with the belt, now let\'s see how abominable it will look soon ;)

Whatever. If he did that he\'d never get to use the paint because the cap would dry to the bottle. Then he\'d have to take a mortgage out to buy another bottle. lol
