yeah, when i\'d done it i thought FISH too, so it\'s gone, tomorrow will be another day at it so the head will be right.

what\'s everyones view on colour schemes??? would like to stay away from the greens that we usually see the scorpions done in, and i would like to keep it as organic as possible.....

I would say number 2........number 1 got too thin a body, and number 3 got tiny claws.........number 2 is juuuuust right.

That and painting semi transparent will be a nightmare come true.

I would have done it in pure striking scorpion colours, kind of the way space marine dreadnoughts keep the colours of the armour they served in.
So all green like.

I agree that nr 2 looks the coolest as a scorpion, but I would worry that all that brown and black would make the mini look a bit flat and boring - more like a swamp thing. I would go for the colors of nr 1, doesn\'t have to be transparent, but it has more contrast and colorwise it\'s closer to the SS color sceme. Think it would make for a more interesting piece.

iwas contemplating going with the normal srriking scorpion colours, but i really want to make this model different. Tom, who drew the pic suggested what if it was painted like a normal scorpion, but where it touched it\'s surrounding it went that coluor....?
like the camo suit in metal gear could?

not too sure yet.... the back has been started tho so pics should be up soon.

mmmm.......puzzled????

I agree with the other\'s I wouldn\'t paint the enitre mini, a scorpian colour. How about just picking out certain armour areas in the scorpian colour.

I think if you go full blown entire mini scorpian colour, then you\'re gonna lose the striking scorpian theme.

That and a big lime green beast in the middle of the battle field would be advertising shoot me really.

But the merging colours has been done by the lictor, and I dont think wraithbone has that qaulity.

Unless......you did a chameleon cloak like the rangers have, and did the undershell of the thing the green.

ok are we talking made up wise.. cause i dont think that would work in game. unless of course it was lyanden. they are a bit on the ghostly spirit wraithy side. but even then i dont think its legal.

There are no rigidly defined colours for what colour striking scorpions should be.
Well, yes, their colours are green and yellow, but it doesn\'t mean you have to go with scorpion green. I think keeping a green shade would better reinforce the striking scorpion theme. Perhaps something like snot green or darker - still strong, but not as virulent.
Just as a piece of random suggestion again, especially since you seem as though you are intending this to be part of a series (even if it is only a series of 2): Have you considered making a mini to represent the pilot before their death and resurrection as a spirit stone in a wraithlord? As in, \"this was how she was 200 years ago as a striking scorpion exarch\". It might be a fun little idea to see elements (like the weaponry and/or pose) echoed between the two. I think this would be extra effective when done with each in the series.
Since this is the day for me making speculative suggestions and getting inspired myself, i rather like that idea. Similarly, before and after interrment into the sarcophagous of a dreadnought, for my purposes...

If you actually do the whole variety of aspects, i will be yet more impressed. Would be quite a sight to see them arrayed together. Admittedly the functionality of the swooping hawks and warp spiders would perhaps be unrealistic to implement, but decorative wings or extra-arm web spinners still seem fine. I\'ll leave it up to your imagination if you really reckon you could do a shining spear wraithlord though - mine doesn\'t stretch that far!

Incidentally, loving the plasticness of the wraithlord; why oh why haven\'t GW got around to plastic wraithguard yet? Here\'s hoping...
