what I prefer

I like to use brake fluid for plastic and acetone fingernail polish remover for metal. I can get both at wal-mart and are generally cheap. I live on a budget so I get a lot of 2nd hand models from E-bay and such so I work with the strippers some. I also use dish gloves to strip as it WILL dry out your hands.:D

I use 3M\'s Safest Stripper , although it will melt plsatic. Thankfully, I don\'t own any plastic minis, so I\'m golden on that front.

Simple Green, Pine Sol, etc, will work as well.

I do recommend investing in a cheap, battery operated toothbrush. :bouncy: It\'s the best investment for cleaning/stripping minis I\'ve ever made.

I sure it is obvious but I feel a need to mention that brake fluid is an animal hazard.It is sweet smelling and great tasting. You need closed cover if you have a cat or dog for it is quickly lethal.

Ammonia and PineSol. That\'s it. It doesn\'t really strip paint, it makes it semi-liquid again, so you just brush the gunk off. And for the first pass I use a brass wire brush, I haven\'t ound any scarrring, in fact, the metal looks brighter after using it! It also works on Plastics, which don\'t melt or warp even kep overnight, but I\'ve noticed it turned it slightly white. But that may also come from the brushing, but if you\'re going to cover it again anyways, it shouldn\'t be a problem.

Speaking of Strippers, anyone catch this cartoon? :p

best thing is its safe for plastics 2.. just fill a bowl or jar with it and plop in ur minis...its so saf u can for get about em for yrs and it wont ruin em:cool:
