Stripping minis

Ok, so about two months ago or so GW stores were having raffles and what not and i ended up winning a lord croq gar on carnisaurus model and then i won any painted army i wanted from the cases.I just took the lizardmen army to go with croq gar.Yeah i was pretty happy since i had just gotten into WH and only had the skullpass set before that.Anywho, I want to repaint the lizardmen.Im glad i got them for free and all but the paint job is what id call slap-dash for sure(no offense to who ever painted them meant).I need advise for the best way to go about this.Its about 56 miniatures i believe, some of them mounted... i thinks its the battalion set or what ever.Anyways, its alot of minis and i need help.

what are they made of?

If Metal, use Windsor and Newton Brush clearner. Works a dream but it WILL MELT PLASTIC!

If Plastic not sure as I\'ve never tried to strip plastic or resin. I would go with either simple green or pinesol.

Oven cleaner for platics. Not sure if brands differ and it has been a while since I have done so.

Do a test on one of the skins and wear gloves.

Break fluid works on metals as well.... again use gloves and work in a well ventilated area.

Oh sorry.I saw threads for swamp bases and such and i figured it was warhammer related.Could a mod please move this to the appropriate section....or i could just repost if that is easiest.

nail polish remover works very well.dont know if it melts plastic but its what i use.just stand and watch them.hasnt damaged any of my minis

If nail polish remover has acetone, plastics are gone. I prefer Simple Green for plastics and Castrol Super Clean for metals.

Chameleon paint stripper is the safest, best way to strip plastic.

You can also order it through model railroad stores - I got a case of it. The gel is better than the liquid.

Brake fluid can be toxic and different brands work in different ways. Please be very careful with it.
