I tried using this, i sprayed the model, the whole model put in the plastic bag and sealed it and left it overnight, then got a brush and under warm water, started scrubbing it. Only the paint from the arms came off wonderfully, all the other parts like body, legs, and helmet didn\'t come off at all, they stayed how they are. i have 40k orks by the way, and on them i have used oven cleaner. What am i doing wrong, how can i improve on this.

What sort of paint is on the mini. I have found if the paint is really old it might take a bit to move it. I dont put it in a bag I just leave it outside. I absolutely cover the thing with oven cleaner. Dont use the Home brand stuff tho cause its non caustic and its the caustic stuff you need.
I do not use the home brand my stuff is just called \"Oven and Microwave Cleaner\". It works perfectly on metal models it took me times to do it but it was damn worth it. How good is oven cleaner on plastics, and do you apply it the same or differently.

I\'ve started using caustic soda to strip minis. It\'s the second best thing to acetone on metals, but I\'ve found it to be almost completely ineffective on plastics. Must be something to do with the way a spray undercoat\'s solvents bond the undercoat to the plastic.
Einion said someting about caustic soda being the effective ingredient in oven cleaner, so the results are probably the same. Give it a try on a plastic mini, it won\'t harm the plastic, and if it doesn\'t strip the paint then you\'ve lost nothing either.
