Oh, nasty! Dettol was the first stripper I tried, and never, ever, ever again! It turned the paint into a glutinous mess that stuck and clung to everything. It clogged the toothbrush, clogged my fingerprints, clogged under my nails, would\'ve clogged my arse if it had been given half a chance.

Yes, Dettol strips paint, but what a mess! And even over a year later, the styrene minis still have a faint odour of Dettol about them.

Once you strip something with brake fluid or anything else do you simply wash them with soap and water?

PineSol, Ammonia, Oven cleaner all mixed together takes anything off anything.. As I\'ve stated before on Stripping Threads, it doesn\'t so much as take the paint off as it turns it into a big glob that comes off like a snake\'s skin. The only problem is that teeny tiny cracks and areas still have to be worked on. Depending on how I mix it (never wrote down the exact recipe) you can strip in about 1-2 hours. I haven\'t seen any side effects on plastic, except it turns a little white, but I assumed that was because of the brushing I gave it!
