stripping WOTC plastics

Something odd I have been experimenting with lately is trying to strip the paint off of a D&D plastic mini.

So far I have tried pinesol and paint thinner with no affect either time. Paint thinner usually will not strip dry paint off a mini, but after my pinesol experience (which usually works like a charm) I suspect that the paints used by WOTC are oil based, as they have to bend and flex with the soft plastic mini without flaking off.

However paint thinner refused to either confirm or deny mu suspicions (\':(\')

Has anyone else tried this, and have they had any success?

Acetone, either from \"somewhere\" or in the form of nail polish remover. This is a common question here, since the paint is an odd type (not acrylic, for sure).

Welcome indeed....

I have seen a few people actually NOT strip them at all, and just prime right over the existing paint. The results were very good as well.

Yep, acetone worked best for me, but you have to be careful not to let them soak as the acetone will also damage the mini. Just dip it, hit it with an old tooth bruch, dip it again, and continue until most of the paint comes off.
