Strongest glue?

I was curious to get opinions on what the strongest glue (for both metals and plastics) on the market currently is?

I\'ve always used the 2 part epoxy type stuff which is pretty strong, but I\'ve bought ebay minis that feel like they\'ve been welded together! I once tried to disassemble an Eldar Avatar that somebody had already glued - I\'m quite a strong guy, but was almost reduced throwing on the floor and jumping up and down on it! Haha.

i like some 2 part epoxy as well. but there is nothing better than zap a gap. its my favorite. put that stuff on there and bob\'s your uncle.

Ive been using pins (on everything but I pin with real fine piano wire) and Zap a Gap on everything lately. It works wonders. I can pin something to a base with only 1 pin and it\'s as tight as if it was molded that way.

ive been using paper clips to pin items which is better?? clips or the wire ive been using loctite super glue

2-Part-Epoxy-Putty is definitly the strongest stuff. But there is a major difference between epoxy glue that hardens within 5 minutes and epoxy glue that hardens within 12 or more hours. This kind of glue is usually much stronger. Depending on the brand of glue, using your kitchen oven you can significantly shorten the hardening time to 15 minutes. Works great if you can pin parts together or fix them with wire so they don\'t change their position.

But don\'t try this with plastic miniatures ;)

Epoxy generally. Urethane adhesive possibly.

With plastics some \'welders\' might give a stronger bond than epoxy could.

Just like with superglue, not all epoxies are made equally; it\'s possible they\'re just using a really good one.

Paper clips work just fine. I use piano wire for two reasons;

1) It\'s stronger than paper clips and I play with young boys who tend to abuse my minis so strength is very important

2) (and this is the biggest reason) It\'s mych finer than the clips so when I pin something I almost never have to re-sculpt it. I can sculpt worth a damn so if I can keep something in it\'s origianal shape as much as possible I will.

One note, tho\'. You need heavy duty wire cutters to cut the piano wire. Most clippers you get from hobby stores won\'t hold up. The wire is very strong and I ruined a really good pair of clippers the 1st time I used the wire.

You can pick up various sized piano wire at hobby shops that do a lot of those motorized plane models. I keep a bit of all the 5 smallest gauges around all the time. Pick up some brass tubes while your there. They\'ve been using them to make kick ass candles lately and the tube is handy for other things as well.
