So here they are, numerous similar models painted by Micro Art Studio

2/ http://www.coolminiornot.com/139657
3/ http://www.coolminiornot.com/134842
4/ http://www.coolminiornot.com/131556
5/ http://www.coolminiornot.com/128738

There are many many more models basically identical in every way, chipped armour, black capes etc, different designs on the banners for what 100$ ???? :flame: This makes me quite angry, as people are making money from models that they know can make money so they keep doing the same old, same old! :cussing::cussing:

Well thats buisness, they have obviously hit onto something that people want, why not make money from it, thats what thousands of companys have done.

I really don\'t see a problem with it.

To be honest each of them sold for £40 which quite average and worth it for them, You might want to do some research on painting prices.

Umm... I reread it and found it quite amusing.... following your logic you should be angry at 1) Ford motors... they make cars... the same, over and over again.... 2)Rowling... she writes books about harry potter - over and over again. The list will go on...

Oh yes, you should also be angry with Game workshop, they makes minies... the same, over and over again, and they even make money, those bastards.

MiG provides service, it is up to you whether to accept it or not.

Eh? This is a ridiculous post!

The minis are all painted different colors, with different banners. You can\'t deny the work that went into them, and you can\'t deny they look good.

The man is trying to make money, not reinvent the freaking wheel! I\'m sure he could crack out a sick unique mini if it is demanded.

Hmm, different poses, different colors, different weapons. Can\'t exactly \"mass produce\" these.

Tell ya what, if I could paint like that, and X mini was in high demand, I\'d be cranking them out as fast as possible. Cuz money is good.

Either this is a post somewhat attacking Micro-art for some unknown personal reason or it is just plain senseless in my opinion.

It probably won\'t last long either way.

Well I was simply going to close the thread, but it seems my own moderating powers are limited to only the Fungal Forums (hint hint)... No plug intended

oh no, a mimi painting business is making money

what bastards, they should work for free obviously, as mini painters don\'t need to pay bills or eat.

hopefully quicksilver, you will realize that painting minis for money is different from painting as a relaxation.

Did a large painting many moons back. Sold it at a local art show for $700. Did the exact same painting, entered it in the same show a few years later and made a few hundered. Did the same thing a few years back....More $$. Thinking of doing it for a fourth time this year. Me and my bank account are having no misgivings. I made a product that people like and are willing to spend a good amount of money on. Darn-tootin I\'ll ride that puppy for all it\'s worth $$:D

Its not the first time Micro Art has been the subject of attacks. It seems to go on quite frequently...I\'m not sure if its jealously or some other motive...but it manifests itself quite a bit in comments left for their submissions.

I think Quiksilver is certainly entitled to his opinion...its not as though he is attacking a person...he is commenting he doesn\'t like the \'mass production\' of art.

I on the other hand, think its something the buying public gets to decide....People buy it, so they continue. Doesn\'t bother me one way or the other.

This is an odd topic. I can\'t blame anyone for being able to make money off of this insane hobby, most of us just hemorrhage it any time new releases come out lol

Quiksilver - it\'s obvious (assuming you don\'t just have a grudge against MAS) that you think miniatures should be individual creative efforts, but let\'s face it, there are a lot of non-painting gamers out there, and one of these guys would be a sight to see amid an otherwise lackluster mass of figures. I don\'t see what\'s wrong with offering the service. But if it makes you \"quite angry\"... don\'t buy any :D

I think he may have already, and feels hard done by.

It is interesting to see how for the same mini, with basically the same paint job got quite a varied amount of selling prices.

Maybe he wants to point out that the miniatures look similar... Ohmy...0_0...

Hehe... Blame me for making Commisions and I will kick your ass...:p...

Edit: Because it is my only income source besides my Studies...:D...
