Submission rant!!!

mickc22

Granddad!
Why the :cussing: do people submit pictures with the images side by side when the restriction is 600 pixels WIDE!!
and expect people to be able to see any detail

they then ask for feedback on the :cussing: thing, not everybody has the luxury of a 22\" monitor

there\'s no height restriction, stack the bloody images on top of each other for :cussing: sake, it\'s not rocket science, you never know you might actually get more than a 5 for it

OK rant over :D

What got you so riled up, anyway? I demand sauce!

What exactly does that mean?

Is it a European thing?

Ahhhh, now I feel like an idiot.

Been like that all day, to be honest.

As to the original topic, I have to agree. They can see how it\'s going to look when submitted...they can then change their pictures fairly easily.

It IS frustrating trying to see those submissions.

no one submission in particular, let\'s just say a recent \"green\" tipped me over the edge lol
but I\'m better now.....

but they all want advice or feedback, and seem to forget that we haven\'t been handling the mini for the last 20 hrs or whatever, and then post pics that are sometimes even smaller than the actual mini

just does my head in:drunk:

Yeah... that\'s another one!
If they can\'t even be bothered to do a proper title then I can\'t be bothered to vote:mad:

Speaking as someone who approves images I can understand your frustration.

However think of the situation Avelorn, Supervike & borg find ourselves in when we get pictures that are out of focus, badly composed or just dire.
It\'s not an easy decision to delete someones \"Pride and Joy\" even when you know it\'s going to get panned.
Those images we do bin, get PM\'s sent to the poster explaining the reasons.
HOWEVER not everyone bothers to take the advise we provide.
So there is a solution to the issue. Post a comment on the images that irritate you. That way the Poster will definitely get the message.
Oh and if they speak something other that English www.dictionary.com is a great tool for most European languages.

Yeah I have been lately actually, I try to do it in a nice way too, so as not too offend

I don\'t envy the job you do on that front, that\'s for sure

I just wanted somewhere to vent so I didn\'t post \"What are you some kind of Jerk!!\" on someones pic :D

@mike:btw, how do I amend my Skaven pic as it says it\'s been rejected, (see in submissions topics)

another thing that annoys me is when they do only do one angle or multiple submissions for the different angles. i mean c\'mon! you can put them together in paint ffs. even i can do it! (*and play around with contrast thanks to scotts link!)

Ahh go on, I love those kind of arguments.
Reminds me of someone shouting at themselves in a mirror. lol

On this subject I see two problems:

*) The article and forum links aren\'t very obvious to new-comers;
*) Whatever help, suggestions, tutorials, ... this site could give, there will always be somebody who doesn\'t care or doesn\'t want to waste the little time it would take to present their minis in a better light.

Two points that can seem antagonistic, but I do believe that if the article and forum sections were as promoted as the gallery/voting page, most new-comers would fully benefit from CMON.

BtW : do moderators have access to the TOP (sticky) function that Chern seems to be able to use? There are a lot of old threads that IMO would need better visibility.

Far more annoying to me are people who use CMON to sell their stuff, (this is fair enough) but constantly submit the same piece OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
Couldn\'t you MODS put a stop to this:flame:

whats the point in submitting something to be scored on how it looks if you can\'t be bothered to make it look good?

i agree with the stickies.
