Hello
OK, this isn't meant to start with me moaning about other artists or their work, but I've just been going through the gallery and trying to add to my votes, after all, the idea is we see a picture, appraise it and vote appropriately isn't it.
As of today, there is a miniature showing in the new and notable section of a AOS sigmarine painted pretty well on a gaming base, it has 240 votes, with a average score of 8.7. Conversely, there is a submission of an elf with hand painted banner on a little display base, with 80 votes and 8.7. Both submitted within a day of each other. Now how on earth can a gaming mini garner x4 the number of votes? The sigmarines have flooded the internet recently, with some really impressive paint jobs, on the flip side a whole load of less inspiring ones too.
My point is, as GW seem to be everyone's favorite villain, who would vote for one of their miniatures painted well, again, well painted, nothing show stopping like the Ben Komets one on PB but decent enough. Some of the really impressive pieces of the last few weeks haven't received anywhere near that number of votes. Kirills bust, Iacton's Ilyad and KD pieces, all around the 100 votes.
Why do people jury rig their works to improve the scores? What does it achieve?
OK, rant over. I think reading that Karol and Bohun have left P&P for similar reasons got me thinking and these two pieces triggered the inner moaner.
