subterrestrial life

My intetion was to build a diorama based on the well known Dark Elves world. I used therefore two minis from Reaper. Hyrekia (as a Dark Elves) and the familar of Terezinya (as a Ghoul thing). Both match so perfectly my idea of this world. I tried to limit the painting colors because in the underground everything is dark and has no colors. Main colors are purple, green and a brownred. Hyrekia should look at the scenery below her (the golden belt is painted in NMM) . Where a arm of a polyp thing (green stuff) is starting to catch the Ghoul for dinner. As well you can see a kind of fungal life form over the dripstone cascade (both green stuff). Hope you like this Diorama. Any comments are wellcome.

I\'m torn on this one. The minis themselves seem to be nicely painted and I like the muted colours. The water looks pretty sweet too.

I\'m affraid that the base and its colour don\'t really work for me though. The bright red is a brave move but it is just a bit too jarring to my eyes. It is also a bit too clear where the construction pieces for the base have been stuck together which makes the setting look a bit unrealistic (as realistic as a bright red rock formation looks anyhow!).

I think its good but it\'s not quite to my tastes and really would benefit from a bit of filing or extra texture on the rock.

I would agree that it is a bit too red. The caverns I\'ve been in have been more yellow/orange. However, I don\'t think that hurts it at all. It\'s still a spectacular piece and obvious it\'s supposed to be underground - though what creates the overhead light?

Yes you\'re right. I should do some more work on the base to hide the borders of the different base parts.
Thanks for that hint.
