Success!

This could herald the dawning of a new era in Miniature buying for those with partners.

I would like to inform you all of the resounding sucess of a new initiative put Foward by Tracy to appease Significant Others who may be not as understanding of our hobby.

My GF was so happy with her little gifts she barely noticed the pile of minis in the bottom of the box!

yay! :flip: :bouncy: :flip:

Although its just occurred to me that now EVERY time I get minis she will be expecting perfume or some other gift, damn! :D

Heh. Yes, I\'ve found that bribes, even small ones, generally work.

I typically just bring a bag or two of Swedish Fish, and my GF is quite happy. Of course, I\'m lucky in that she doesn\'t give me much crap for buying models, but still... ;)

Very sneaky, very sneaky! I love it! I may have to do the same at some point in the future, :flip::flip::flip:

I am also lucky though, as my fiance is very open to me buying little army men. That is when I can convince her to let me go to the game store. ;)

Oh boy if she only knew! :D

Nah....... doesn\'t work for me. If I bring a gift home like that my wife knows I\'ve bought something I shouldn\'t have. :D

Plus she\'s allergic to most perfumes, and isn\'t keen on chocolates.

Mike, lucky you.

On second thought, that leave jewelery. Maybe not so lucky. ;)

Mine grumps if I spend \"too much\". But most of the time, she is very understanding.

My husband and me, we spend \"too much\" together :D You might think we\'re very lucky to share the same hobby (well, he\'s on the gaming side, but anyway).. But the thing is, without anyone complaining that either of us spends \"too much\" on minis, we buy waaay too much stuff, some of which sits in blisters and boxes unused forever. So sometimes having a \"stopping factor\" might be a good thing -- you think very careful about what you\'re buying and don\'t end up getting a whole bunch of stuff you\'re not going to use :)

I had a load of fun and will be happy to repeat the performance. I still have plenty of pink tissue.
Isn\'t chocolate a stimulation of love for the brain.....
Remind me next time Trevor and I will throw some chocolate in
Maybe you can get minis, a happy woman and, lucky all in one shot......

With that kind of service I will have to buy something from you! Except my package will have to include the woman to give these gifts to! lol

I swore i wouldn\'t buy anymore until I paint all of the stuff in my to do tray. Then I accidentily went on ebay \"window\" shopping.

Fortunately I\'m really good at giving hand and foot massages.:innocent:

My wife insists we buy minis. And Margo, if you think you have no \"stopping factor\", try being a mini retailer...:p:Dlol

For those of you who \"don\'t get it\", check my profile...;)

Ho hum.... i must be even luckier than most...

My girlfriend has, on several occasions... ENCOURAGED me to purchase minis. She loves looking through catalogues of them and occasionally picks up a brush too!

ok, I still can\'t figure out why I have such problems combining women and miniatures in my life!!!!

All these \"success\" stories are nice to hear though, it lets me hold out some hope for me!

I think perhaps it\'s that I cover the true nature of the hobby at first to keep from chasing someone off, and once we get closer and they understand the extent of it all, they\'re a little put off. I resolve from now on, I will be 100% up front about the minis from date 1, if it chases them off, so be it, but if they stay, perhaps I\'ll have something!

(that includes admiting the buying piles of minis I may or may not ever paint :p)

I like her already! Just tell her to kill him a little - it\'s not his fault we\'ve been together so long he\'s forgotten that not all women are chocoholics like I am! :flip:
