I\'m working up a bunch of Tau and Kroot for a Combat Patrol. Short of one completed display figure (a converted Word Bearers Dark Apostle) I have little to no experience with conversion. With that in mind, I\'d appreciate suggestions and comments from folks who have modified their \"out of the box\" Kroot.
I\'m doing a simple 10-Kroot squad of Carnivores, and my theme is that I want them all in \"aggressive\" poses. I\'ve got these two finished (but not gap-filled with GS yet.)
Kroot the First
Kroot the Second
The first was a swap of the left hand so it joined more or less appropriately with a matching hand on a rifle butt. The second is a bit more involved - I was aiming for a \"bring it\"-type pose, and split the legs down the middle of two sets, filling in the gap so they\'d be slightly spaced apart of a wide stance. When it came to posing the arms, though, I was rather disappointed to find that the wrist/quills on the rifle hand didn\'t allow for twisting it outwards slightly, and the best I could do with the knife hand was reposition the knife to a more upright pose.
As mentioned above, I\'d like comments and suggestions about converting Kroot in general. Has anyone done anything really outlandish, though, like jumping/eating/etc.? I\'m also wondering if anyone\'s been able to modify the head position greatly, and if so, how?
