Suggestions on colors for urban themed 40k?

Hey guys, I'm trying to paint up an Ork Blood Axe army with an urban theme while trying to keep it less cartoony-looking... was wondering which colors you would recommend that aren't completely dull that are still somewhat realistic... I particularly enjoyed one of the newer blog posts on the GW website and I want to paint using colors similar to the first 2 pics http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/wnt/blog.jsp?pid=10000016

Any recommendations on how to accomplish this?

Urban camoflauge (troops uniforms) is usually a mix of 2-3 grays and black there are several patterns, from tiger stripe to digital "pixelated". Google is your friend here.

For those two tanks, it looks like a light and dark gray airbrushed on in a German World War II stripey pattern for the second tank, and then more crisp harder lines in pointy shapes for the first tank. Again, good reference via google images, would be World War II tank camo patterns. I am not familiar with the GW new line of paints, but if I had to venture a guess for the older ones, I would say for darker: Shadow Gray, Codex Grey, or Adeptus Battlegrey. For the lighter: Charodon Granite, Astronomicon Grey or Fortress Grey.
