Suggestions?

Hello all,

I was very hesitant to submit something to CMON again because the rating system is so brutal. It\'s heartbreaking to pour your energy into a mini, have it turn out to be the best one you have ever done, and it gets a lower score than the first one you ever did! But the last time I submitted you all had such great suggestions that I thought I would see what you had to say, and try to ignore the score.

Here is my Orc Shaman from Reaper, it was a fun one to paint:

Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I\'m particularly disappointed with the skin. In real life it looks much smoother, but in the super close up photo it still looks splotchy. Even thinner paints? I\'m not sure I can handle the amount of patience that would require!

One good thing is I finally figured out how to take a good photo with my camera. If you look at my other submissions, you can see the improvement there too. Maybe it\'s a little too good actually, it shows all the flaws really clearly.

Anyway, what do you all think? Any suggestions for improvement?

Thining the paint more and more layers will always improve your work (unless you\'re Cyril )

Ehh, it\'s better than a lot of mine, that\'s for sure. I like the skin colour, sort of \"tea-green\". And the little face on his staff is priceless! I will leave the detailed critique to others, I have to get to work soon.

Yeah, it\'s sometimes perplexing. But the whole point of CMON is to let others see your work, and the community may see your work differently than you do. My highest-ranked mini (Riot Girl) is not my \"best\" paint job, rather it\'s the one which people LIKED the most.

I agree with that statment, the scores drop unfairly. I like this mini (beter than I can do) i don\'t know why the score is so low. Great job keep pianting and posting.:flip:
