Sukigod's All-In-One Painting Log

I hauled ass to get this thing where it is now - about 85% done. The whatever they are on the top aren't painted, I can live with that. Not my best work, but as I stated at the beginning of these, how many times a year am I going to use these? On to the final pic...

You could always donate one of those rockets to your local shop (or your local duck...)

Excellent work as always. So lets see the Horde!

Here ya go mud duck!

Quick shot of the 5K I'm bringing to the Apoc battle this weekend.

Astute orks might notice two skullhammers when my recent list only calls for one. I couldn't help posting this with both since they were both painted. So technically, this would be 5.4K not 5K even. I'll only be using one this weekend.

I'm slowly working my way back to the workbench (it doesn't help I promised to convert a websites content management system on my own time...). Gotta pay da bills ya know.

On the modeling front, I've finished the details on one Skullhamma and for a change of pace I started to assemble some Stormboyz. I will eventually replace (well, add to but use the newer ones more often...) the wobbly boyz with these. I'll build/prime and paint them in short bursts, two at a time, as they detail is every bit as good as all the new orks models - way too detailed!

I also picked up something recently at a local thrift store for $1. I'll just post a pick and see where this goes...

Yeah, if anyone knows the source of this model, I'd be VERY interested in turning these into rokket/skorcha buggies...

OK, back in the saddle again...

Finished up the Apoc models I was working on, wrapping up the paintjob on the second Pulsa Rokkit. Nice to have them finished.

Too big to fit all of them on my workbench at the same time so took over the kitchen table for a group shot. Fun to use a warboss as a Barry for the shot, to give you a sense of scale.

Over the Thanksgiving holidays I'll be bringing the good work camera home and settin up another {Year's End) shot of the entire (painted) Waaagh! and I'll post'em of course.

Now I need to see if I feel like painting (finishing up some models) or building new things (more Stormboys of Killer Kans).

Thanks Doc! The grass is a bit green - it's GW's flock so tends to be a bit bright. I can live with it.

Things have been a bit on the slow side for me in the hobby world as Real Life has gotten very, very busy as of late. I’ve got some very exciting things going on and want to take two lines to let you know about them.

One: My wife and I, along with another coworker, are buying the advertising agency we’ve both worked for for over 10 years. The owner is ready to retire and we’re taking over. That means a lot of time spent doing other things like buying a business! Makes me feel a bit old and all “responsible” like. Weird, I guess I’ve always considered my self as I have when I was 15 years old. Never would have thought I would be a business owner.

Two: I’m organizing/hosting a Warhammer40K Pub Tournament in the vein of The Kalm Before the Waaagh! in Huntsville, Alabama. As much as I’d like to just waltz on down there and partake, it probably wont happen so I’m hosting my own in central Minnesota. I’ve been in touch with Da Reddaneks who run the Kalm and they’ve been extremely helpful and encouraging and they’re a bunch of great guys. It doesn’t happen until June of 2011 but there’s a lot to get ready.

So - short term, we’re buying a business - long term, I’m organizing a 30 person bar tournament. Doesn’t leave much for modeling but that doesn’t mean I won’t be doing any...

I decided after the Apoc units I’d finish off the stock GW battlewagon I was working on. I’ve gone back over the metals and finished off the tracks and wheels. Not hugely different but it is another step towards completion. On to the pics!

I do have a 5K Apocalypse battle to get prepared for (15,000 per side) so I’m not completely out of the gaming side either, just not as much as usual. And, as promised, I’ll be doing the full on End of the Year Army Shot next week over Thanksgiving weekend so that should be fun as well.

Suki, I hope that you don't plan on rusting this wagon up, well at least not more then a spot here and there. I think that I like the chipped to hell, but not stopped in one place long enough to gather any rust look that you've got going on here.

2. Congrats on the business! Sounds like you and the wife are in for fun? The question is thou, who's the boss?
Also, could you use another grot to kick around, running and fetching? I'm looking and I work cheap!

B. Where did you plan on having your tournament? Sounds like it would be fun, if no to just pop in look at all the stuff.

I think that I like these two rules best.

• Offer to buy your opponent a beer. It may
not ‘techinically’ be mandatory but it will help
your karma.
• The “Jeff O’Neal Rule”. Do not buy the person
running the computer drinks until the end
of the day, as we need this one person to be
clear headed.

Grats on the business Suki! Advertising is a job i've always wanted to get into, all trained up and what not in media and advertising, but getting into it is hella hard in Britain since they're full to the gunnels with people working at all the agencies...PAH! It'd be a great fun job to have though, almost envious!
Not really into gaming at all, but sitting around getting shitfaced and imagining i'm obliterating my enemies I can do =P I can't imagine those huge games would last too long with all the titans and heavy tanks knocking about bristling with firepower!

Thanks guys!

Duck: I'd love to have new people on right now but we're not looking, other changes need to happen first. That doesn't mean we won't ever though. You can send your resume in (and let me know it's coming) and we'll put it on file. Surprisingly that doesn't mean the Circular File - we seriously keep all submittals.

As for the tournament, it's going to be in St. Cloud, a bar called McCann's. Nice big place with it's own microbrewery on site. Good beers and nice people. I picked it mostly because of size and central location. And I agree with the two rules you pointed out. I just haven't decided who's doing the scoring yes so not sure what to change the name too :)

I'll be opening the registration sometime in December and there's room for 30 people so there should be more than enough room (not sure of that ;s a good or bad thing yet - we'll see!)

TBS: I completely understand about getting into advertising - it's pretty tough here in the US too, especially in this economy. It seems like marketing/design/advertising/etc. are ALWAYS over pitched by schools for the market making competitions for jobs extremely tight. We work with a lot of manufacturers (B2B) and we never hear about them having too many people to choose from, it's usually the other way around - like the nursing/health care industry, they can't get enough qualified people in the door.

Yeup, pretty much the way it is back home too. Someone I know working as a creative was telling me not long ago how the competition is tighter than ever now, which is understandable. I wouldn't fancy his sleepless nights trying to conceive or polish the perfect pitch to win the contract over getting his balls severely felt by his boss! Sounds rough, this weather!

love all of it.. except the front gob. that area with the metal is too much metal. i would tone it down and go back to red, then pop some dirt onto it.

Intriguing video... If you removed the sexually insecure poodleheads, the grossed out looking guys and the lame visual jokes I'd say it was a pretty good video. Granted I did look at it with almost no volume on. :p

Holy crap! I'm 15 again!

Ya see, this is where 80% of the population loses it's sense of humor.

Thank you TBS, This is going on my iPod today.

ps: t-shirt - I Don't Feel Tardy... Love it!
