Sunday

Today: a fairly relaxed day after a manic one yesterday. Spent most of it doing website work for a (private) customer, just got back from a mate's house where I moved a bookshelf for him (he's disabled so couldn't shift it himself). This evening I'm planning on assembling a few more mini's and then likely having a bath before I hit the sack.

In 1995: 8th November was a Wednesday and that was my final year at school, so most likely just the usual school stuff.

Lesse. This Sunday, woke up and called Dad. Then breakfast. Watched a little football (yay Bengals!) then did a little work on the car and hit the computer. Rest of the day will be spent painting.

1995 Sunday: Wake up, call Dad. Then breakfast. Watch a little football (die Elway!) then do a little homework and hit the computer. Rest of the day will be spent on homework.

Seems to me that Sunday today is better than Sunday 1995.

Wait... why 1995? Fourteen years is a bit odd. Oh well, nevermind. That's probably pretty normal for these parts.

Cake or Death?
These days:
Sunday school at church at 0830, donuts at 1000, worship service at 1030. A bit of lunch at noon, then off to Warhammer day at the local store for the rest of the day. Evening with the wife reading Dashiell Hammett in bed.

1995:
Up at the crack of noon, food, and the off to Jennifer's house for D&D, anime, or MST3K. Home before school the next day, but not always.

In 1995 I'd have probably been nursing a hangover, although studying is likely as well, it being the year I finished my degree and started my PhD.

Maybe we should have a thread for each day? So we don't have to hijack Rev's Sunday thread... :smile-big:

Sundays now:
Up at around 0730. Breakfast and early service at church (0900-1000).
Rest of the deay spent with the wife. Working on projects or general house upkeep.

1995 Sundays:
Up at around 0730. Get kids up (they'd be 5 & 7). Load up family and take a friends ski boat out. Tube the kids, lunch dockside, ski the adults, go home tired and clean boat.
-or-
Go to church, get out around 1230, go to lunch with friends.

I went to the beach this Sunday with the mrs and the boy to take some pics. Other Sundays I'm down at the local racetrack watching cars or bikes :)

In 1995 chances are that I'd still be awake after a 'heavy' Saturday night at The Orbit:

Sat chewing my face off, smoking copious amounts of dope and drinking whiskey. We'd finally get to bed some time on Sunday night if we were lucky and would be out of commission until Tuesday :D

Yup. I still have a penchant for whiskey. Did some damage to a bottle of Jameson last night and regret it today...

You tried Penderyn single malt? Delicious stuff. They're making Brecon Vodka and Gin now as well as something that looks a little like Baileys.

Sunday was my 22nd birthday and I found a happy home for many, many pints of Guinness.

In 1995 I would have been 8, and probably spent my Sunday building a model car kit or watching cartoons. (Not that I still do that now!) lol

Penderyn is class, and it'll only get better as the distillery ages. I'm not sure I've ever tasted a smoother whisky. That Merlyn liqueur is the one that tastes of baileys. It's a bit thinner with more potency. I loved it, but it's a ladies drink :D
