Super Dungeon Explore/Sedition Wars Injection Molded Plastic?

Hey, all. Hopefully someone around here can clue me in on this. I'm assuming the both Super Dungeon Explore and the newly funded Sedition wars are both injection molded plastic but wasn't real sure. I see the success of Sedition Wars as very encouraging for independent game designers and it validates Kickstarter as a legit source of funding for HUGE projects.

I know a little about the injection molding process, but don't have any contacts in that field. I'd love it if someone could give me a breakdown of the process as a whole. Were the models digitally sculpted(I believe Super Dungeon Explore's were, but not sure)? Sedition Wars appear to have been traditionally sculpted and then converted to plastic. How many Tools were required(I know the two games are completely different and will therefore have differing amounts of Tools)?

I have an idea I think would be well received, have a few contacts in the sculpting industry, have a good artist on my team, but lack the knowledge of plastic models. Could things be done in resin or pewter? Sure, but I love plastics, gamers loves plastics(not everyone), and my idea has a very Board Game/Miniature game feel to it. I just want to get everything in line before I move forward, start a Kickstarter and make promises that I'm not even sure of all the processes.

Thanks in advance.

I remember reaper.com had recently introduced some new plastic miniatures line. I bet they would be willing to work with you on your project. Chances are you would have to start looking oversees in china, I think that's where zombicide and maybe even sedition wars is having all of theirs done.

Resin would likely be much more expensive (and fragile) but worthwhile for depth of detail if needed.

If you were to contact Ed from http://trollforged.com I'm sure he'd offer advice regarding plastic. He has recently developed his own setup that seems both impressive in the detail it can achieve and at a very competitive price.

www.minisculpture.co.uk would also be a good place to ask questions and search for contacts.

Good luck!
