super sculpey question

I just went to hobby lobby to pick up some super sculpey for making molds for ornamental armor, display bases, and other things, but all they had was super sculpey firm. I went ahead and bought it as I wouldn\'t be there again for a while, but have this question before I open it (and lose the possibility of refund):

is super sculpey firm much different than super sculpey for the things I mentioned, specifically ease of use for a relative beginner?

It is MUCH harder. I mix it with some regular super sculpey to make it softer. BUT it would be good for bases/rocks and even armour I assume if you can get it soft enough to work with. It\'s very grainy and I find it like that even when mashing it up after a while. With a little bit of regular super sculpey though..it\'s good and it still remains grey.
