superglue solvents

anyone out there have any idea if there is a superglue solvent out there that will dissolve the glue itself, but not paint that is already been laboured on?

i just finished retouching some of my old school silverhelm [the ones with bretonnia barding] and some superglue got into the scale mail legs, and then turned into a fuzzy white fur when i tried to wash it out. i can pry off the legs and redo them, but would rather not if i don\'t have to.

any ideas?
thanks in advance,

further to this

i just realized after a bit of panic that the \"fur\" is just a chemical reaction of the glue with the somthing [the air?] and can be washed of with a bit of water, but the details are still muddied.....

You beat me to the punch, Trevor. Superglue + water makes stringy nastiness. If I ever get some glue on my tools by accident I just dunk them and scrape the lumps off. Kinda hard to get it out of textured spots though, so you might be out of luck with the scale mail.

Acetone

The solvent for superglue is acetone (like in nail polish remover). But it will dissolve your paint with the glue, I\'m afraid.
