Actually, I am happy they didn\'t use the smallvile cast. I don\'t like a lot of what they did to the Superman legend.

The cast had nothing to do with that, the writers did.
Tom Wellington as Clark Kent is perfect, and Micheal Rosenbaum\'s Lex is friggin awesome, not to mention John Snyder\'s Johnathon Kent.
I have a feeling Spacey, is gonna pull a mix between Hackman and Rosenbaum.

Yeah.I agree. Someone like Arnold Swartzenegger in his prime, but a better actor.
I think the reason they use skinny guys is that Superman is just an alien who came to Earth. On Krypton he might be the average joe. But on Earth, with it\'s different enviroment and yellow sun, he is super human.

See, I \'ve always heard the creator\'s wanted him to be an average guy, just with super human powers, he was supposed to be a farmers son, rangy, but not uber buff like they draw him today.
Besides when you can lift Battleships, Moutains and buildings, I really doubt you can find a place to go workout to keep up that phsyique.

As for Smallville, the new season is turning out pleasantly surprising, OK they did have a really LAME episode where Clark meets Aqua Man, but you\'re seeing Lex really start to turn evil, Clark is finally starting to see this.
They have introduced Proffesor Fine, played by James Marsters (Spike,Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) who is in fact Brainiac, they have brought in the Fortress of Solitude (I may be wrong but it looks like the same set materials from Superman II), mentioned General Zod, and shown us a taste of the Phantom Zone.

Oh, and speaking of Christopher Reeves, this might interest some.

I never manage to see the show and this one I really wanted to see (aquaman was my favorite as a kid - well, after green arrow maybe) so I\'m glad I didn\'t miss much.

Oh, and careful with your past supermans:
Christopher Reeve (no s) was the movie superman
Steve Reeves (s) was the TV superman (and payed Lois Lane\'s father in the first superman movie)

As to stuffing, clearly he\'s wearing a cup. He may be invulnerable, but he\'s not stupid!

IMDB.com says this film was abandoned. Did they pick it up again?
It\'s in post, when did it say it was abandoned? As far as I know since Singer (of X-Men fame) started shooting it\'s been in continuous production.

Kirk Alyn ;)

Avoiding pictures and information about films I might have an interest in, as I do, I was unable to avoid getting to see what the new Supes looks like and I hope the film exceeds my expectations as a result... personally I think whoever plays Superman should be built like a brick outhouse, period.

And what\'s with the colours of the suit?? It\'s like Daredevil looking like he was in burgundy the whole film, which did nothing for me.
