What is the most bizarre method you have heard of for getting money for your hobby? I knew two guys in the States who sold blood. One guy wanted to get an army for back in the days of 2nd edition 40K. The other guy sold blood to play Asheron’s Call.

I spent an afternoon sellin my second hand crap at a car boot sale because the missus put a ban on me buying minis.....
Original intentions were good until stopping off at the pub on the way back from the bootsale and not having nearly enough money to buy what I first expected....

In the past I went without lunch for about 6 weeks keeping the dinner money to buy minis..

recently been quitting smoking and the funds put ina jar for mini goodness.....Best incentive ever to quit all the health things you think....won\'t happen to me...Seeing that money in a jar makes you realise..shit what was I thinking......

I asked someone about this who had sold blood in college. What you give in a blood donation drive is whole blood, what you can sell is plasma. I guess the plasma regenerates more quickly, as you\'re not supposed to give whole blood nearly so often as they\'ll let you sell plasma apparently.

Thing is, I don\'t mind my job, really. It\'s usually NOT boring. It requires brain work, diligence, and sometimes creativity.

But I still resent having to go to work on a day I\'d rather be painting...

Slacker - try 7 days a week 12 hrs a day -
thats a hella schedule.

Not gonna know what to do with myself when I go back to working only 40 hrs a week

@wren: Here, we can\'t sell blood, it\'s all donated. So every two months, my blood gets separated into its constituents, as the blood bank needs.

Just to clarify: Plasma can be transfused without worrying about blood types, as the antibodies and markers have been removed (Usually in a centrifuge)

Does hacking into Barclays bank and depositing funds from industry fat cats into my Cayman isles account count...?
